"Hey, stranger. Curious what happened to me? Don’t ask. See that water planet behind me? There are eel eggs there - very valuable to me. Bring me some. I’m done with that place... there’s something... never mind. Just go."- Fred
Hey guys! 👋
April’s event is here, starting on April 11 at 19:00 CET!
It all begins at Moon’s base, Moonstep - you’ll find Fred there under the giant sign “EEL’S EGGS WANTED.” Who is Fred, and what is he doing there? Good question. Fred is an astronaut from far, far away who’s been hunting eel eggs. But this time, he’s run into something huge... it almost ripped off his... well, never mind. Let’s talk about that later...
But right now, he needs your help!
Your mission is to travel to a nearby new planet, mostly covered in ocean with just a few small islands. Beneath the surface, there are 24 eel eggs waiting to be found. You can locate them using your radar and load them into your spacesh... Wait! Not a spaceship. You’ll actually need a submarine!
That’s right - you’ll have to build a hybrid spaceship that can operate both in space and underwater. Feel free to use the new Floodlight component, which was added as reward for completing the Chasing Fire package. If you’ve completed it, you should have 4 Floodlights in your inventory. They work as powerful long-range spotlights, helping you see better in darkness or underwater.
Back to the mission: each eel egg has a different weight and size. The heavier the egg, the more points Fred will give you when you deliver it. How many eggs should you bring? That’s up to you! The more you collect, the higher your score - but be careful. Fred’s patience is limited, so the longer you take, the fewer points you’ll earn.
So aim to bring back as many eggs as possible, as quickly as possible!
Once you deliver the eggs to Fred, your score will appear on the large sign next to him. When you’re done, take a screenshot and submit your score on our Discord. Share your strategies, compare results, and see who comes out on top!
When the event ends, the winners will receive free keys for the full version of Approximately Up upon release.
Have fun, and fly safe!
I mean... swim safe. Trust me...
