Good news!
The demo is going to remain LIVE until the full release!
Even though the original plan was to keep the demo available only until March 10, I’ve decided to keep it live until the full release. Our community is growing surprisingly well - much better than I expected - so thank you all for being part of Approximately Up!
After the #NoFrameChallenge event ends, I will push one final update containing several major bug fixes. After that, the demo will stop receiving updates. I hope this is an acceptable compromise.
From that point on, I will focus 100% on completing the full version of the game, which is far bigger than the demo itself (it should contain 17 planets!). Since I want to deliver the most polished and bug-free product possible, I will use this time before release to gather additional bug reports from you. I will also go through the suggestions channel topic by topic and think about possible ways to implement your ideas.
Since there are hundreds of suggestions on our Discord server, I will temporarily make that channel private so I can review everything properly. We also have playtesters working on the full version to help catch any remaining bugs, so I hope the full release will be as smooth as possible!
You can think of the Demo more as a large, long-term playtest rather than a traditional demo. I think that’s already pretty clear because of the unusually large amount of content available. After the full release, the Demo will go offline and only the full version will remain available.
Thank you all! The full version should be completed sometime around June/July, so until then - stay tuned and have fun!
Lukas
