addedThis is a bigger update addressing a few areas we felt needed some love. We wanted to wait on this patch until it was ready, and now it finally is! Included you'll find several quality-of-life changes, new settings, and updated glove models.
addedWe hope this tides you over as we finish the final segment of the game! Expect exciting new content and puzzles soon!
addedFancy New Gloves - We are excited to show off our new glove models with this update. As we move towards our final build of the game, we will be periodically bringing in our new custom assets, so keep an eye out. You may also notice some minor tweaks to visuals in this update.
addedNo More Pushback - We adjusted the way the player's "body" interacts with desks and tables. There was an unintentional/unwanted interaction that pushed players backwards based on the position of the body and not the head, but no more! You can now easily lean over objects shorter than you.
changedLoader Portals Changes - To make the gameplay experience better for teleport-only players, we have changed the way entering portals works. Now you can point your teleport destination directly at the portals, and it will load you into the next area. The portal will also turn GREEN when it is being selected.
fixedMenu Fixes - We have made 3 menu changes: there was a little wonkiness with the menu pointer functionality, but this has been completely resolved. We have also added confirmation text when returning to the Main Menu screen from the pause menu. Lastly, we fixed a strange error that would only allow the player to return to the Main Menu screen once per fresh boot of the game in some cases.

Patch Notes

  • Fancy New Gloves - We are excited to show off our new glove models with this update. As we move towards our final build of the game, we will be periodically bringing in our new custom assets, so keep an eye out. You may also notice some minor tweaks to visuals in this update.

  • No More Pushback - We adjusted the way the player's "body" interacts with desks and tables. There was an unintentional/unwanted interaction that pushed players backwards based on the position of the body and not the head, but no more! You can now easily lean over objects shorter than you.

  • Smooth Turning - Some players (looking at you Darkhope!) requested a smooth turn option, and we thought it would be a great addition. This can be found in the GENERAL SETTINGS when in-game. Player comfort is paramount in VR: the more choices available, the more freedom to pick the playstyle that suits you best.

  • Loader Portals Changes - To make the gameplay experience better for teleport-only players, we have changed the way entering portals works. Now you can point your teleport destination directly at the portals, and it will load you into the next area. The portal will also turn GREEN when it is being selected.

  • Menu Fixes - We have made 3 menu changesthere was a little wonkiness with the menu pointer functionality, but this has been completely resolved. We have also added confirmation text when returning to the Main Menu screen from the pause menu. Lastly, we fixed a strange error that would only allow the player to return to the Main Menu screen once per fresh boot of the game in some cases.
  • Scaling Fix - Addressed strange scaling bug that made objects larger in unexpected ways.

  • Achievements - Found a problem stopping players from unlocking achievements. To celebrate, we also added in a few extras!

  • Keycard Bug - We fixed a bug where the keycard was getting lost inside the locked cabinet.

  • Diagonal Movement Fix - We fixed an unintended interaction where moving diagonally would make you travel faster than intended.

  • Teleporting Through the Floor - We have patched a few rare instances where the player was able to teleport through the floor altogether.

  • Lab Exterior Lighting - Added a new lighting source to the outside of the Lab.

Known Bug List In an effort to stay transparent with the community, here is a list of bugs we are aware of. These bugs are tricky to track down and squash, so if you experience them please report them to us. Fixing these issues is our #1 priority.

  • Lighting Issue - There is a strange visual bug that has been occurring at random times on random objects, causing them to either turn completely black, or to shine incredibly brightly. If you encounter this bug please report both which item(s) and the area where it was encountered. Restarting the game should fix this.

  • Spawning Bug - In extremely rare cases, there has been a bug that causes you to spawn either in walls or out of bounds as you load a new area. We are actively working on a hotfix to ensure that players will be able to continue gameplay when this occurs, however at this time your best bet is to restart the game and your reset guardian/play area.

As always we are committed to making ANDERSON the best game it can be. Join our Discord to submit feedback and bugs directly: https://discord.gg/kqacxpA
