Examples include the workshop, needed for basic tools, and crafting stations like the carpenter’s shop.

Until now, players could construct any building at any point in the game. To create a more tangible sense of progression and encourage farm development and production of goods for sale, we divided buildings into two groups:

  • basic buildings,

  • advanced buildings.

Basic buildings are essential for the player, making it possible to farm regardless of mistakes during gameplay. Examples include the workshop, needed for basic tools, and crafting stations like the carpenter’s shop.

Workshop

Carpenter - Craft Station

Advanced buildings, while not strictly necessary, boost your farm, making you more efficient and unlocking new ways to expand your homestead.

To unlock these, you need to earn enough coins and buy a special building blueprint from the merchant.

The blueprint is a key part of your construction plans. Some advanced buildings you can look forward to are the wagon house and the oxen stable.

Another new building we added is the granary.

During the DEMO, we noticed many of you were frustrated with carrying all your items in the inventory. The juggling of grain like a circus act is no more! To improve organization and storage, we introduced the granary, a place to safely store items you do not currently need. This shows we listened to your feedback and are committed to building a game that suits your needs.

That wraps up today’s update! We would love to know your thoughts. Which building do you think should become advanced next? Stay tuned for more Ancient Farmer news coming soon.

Best regards,

The Dev Team
