As development continues on Always Bet on Quack, we wanted to share what we’re actively working on right now, what our next major milestones are, and what our focus will be heading into the Spring semester.

Mini-Games & Earning Chips

One of our biggest goals for the Spring is implementing our mini game system. These are construction themed mini games that give players new ways to earn chips outside of the casino floor.

These activities are designed to:

  • Break up casino play with short, social experiences

  • Give players reliable, skill based ways to earn chips

  • Fit naturally into the tone and humor of the game

This system is a major piece of the overall game loop, and we’re excited to start building it out. We adamantly do not want a timer based system for chips, or any kind of method designed to make YOU feel bad for not having the chips to play. We don’t think that’s very fun.

Progression, Achievements & Rewards

Alongside mini games, we’re finalizing the game’s progression system. This includes:

  • Player progression milestones

  • Achievements and long term goals

  • Rewards that unlock as you complete challenges in the Monte Quacko

Our aim is to make progression feel rewarding without being grindy, and to ensure players always have something fun to work toward.

Ongoing Optimization

We’re also continuing a strong optimization push.

We’re very aware of the realities of the current PC hardware market, and one of our core goals is for Always Bet on Quack to run well on non high end machines. At the moment, we’re maintaining a steady 60 FPS on a GTX 2080, and we’re actively working to improve performance even further through profiling, optimization passes, and smarter technical decisions.

This is a game we want you to be able to play with all of your friends, without melting your computers.

We’ll continue sharing updates as these systems come together. If you’d like to follow along and support development, wishlisting the game on Steam

is the best way to stay informed and help us reach more people! If you’d like to stay in touch with us directly, please feel free to join our Discord: https://discord.gg/SUjXUfmumx

Thanks for being part of our quacking wild journey, more soon.
