Alchemy Survivors changes
The survivors keep coming! We see you and we appreciate you. There are lots of great things to explore in this week's update... if you're brave enough!
So let's get into what's new -
New Level: Brood Den - A festering nest of silk and shadow where countless legs skitter in the dark and the Brood Mother watches from the deep.
Unlocked by killing 500 Giant Spiders in any level
Includes a new boss, the Brood Mother, spawning at minute 15
Watch out for egg sacs!
New Workstation: Blood Infuser - This greedy workbench lets you sacrifice one item to imbue its properties into another item. Use it to power up your weapons/armor or make legendary materials to craft with. You'll need to slaughter enough enemies in the area to complete each infusion.
New bosses to conquer:
The Silverback spawns in the Plains at minute 20
Thornwood Ancient spawns in the Forest at minute 15
The Pale Sovereign spawns in the Cemetery at minute 15
The Brood Mother spawns in the Brood Den at minute 15
Enemy changes:
Giant Spiders now also shoot a web projectile
Wolves will now periodically lunge at the player after circling them for a while
The Chessland level has two new enemies: Pawns and Knights
Rooks and Bishops no longer spawn in the Plains
Slightly reduced Boar damage
Balance changes:
Increased enemy spawn rate by 50% in all levels
Enemies now squish up tight with each other, forming denser crowds
Changed how enemies spawn to make just running away from everything less safe
All characters now start with some amount of base Armor, which reduces damage from enemies
Item changes:
The Alchemy Table and Crafting Altar can now create any kind of item based on the items you put in, instead of only creating weapons
Added a rare "Freeze Chance" affix that adds a % chance to freeze enemies hit
Added a rare "Gold Find" % affix that increases your chances of finding gold coins per kill
Added a rare "Magic Find" % affix that biases dropped loot towards higher-rarity items
Projectile weapons can now roll the "Area" upgrade to embiggen their projectiles
Melee weapons can now roll "Speed" upgrades for how fast they swing
Orbit weapons can now upgrade with bonus Armor and Recovery
The "Speed" affix has been renamed to "Weapon Speed" to differentiate it from "Move Speed"
You can now pick up dropped weapons even when your weapon slots are full. The weapons will go to your inventory as items, and if you find yourself with free weapon slots later, you can equip your collected weapon items.
Codex changes:
Clicking any item in the codex will now open a new notes page with everything you've discovered about that item
The codex now includes stats on how many runs you've done with each character
The bestiary tab now includes a section about the bosses you've defeated
UI changes:
Your character stats sheet now displays your current health
Crafting workstations now display what type of item they create
Clicking an inventory filter (Weapons, Equipment, Materials) now just shows that item type instead of toggling that filter on/off
Indicators for items dropped off-screen now have a little picture of what item it is
Added an indicator that points toward any spawned boss off-screen
Bugfixes:
Fixed a bug where mashing OK during multiple level ups could freeze the game
Fixed a bug where newly-acquired items from leveling up were sometimes invisible
Fixed a bug where crafted items were sometimes invisible on future runs
Fixed a bug where crafting stations would sometimes get stuck crafting forever
Fixed a bug where trying to craft while offline would always give Arcane Missiles
One final note to leave you with -- enemies look so much better in these dense crowds now! I recommend a little bit of knockback for some fun!
