addedHappy new year everybody. This is our first post here for everyone on the Steam community for our game, Age of the Deep, and I didn't want to leave you all in the dark!
changedIf you are curious about older progress there is a playlist there as well. Essentially 2024 saw the game prototype start to flesh out to become nearly vertical slice ready. Almost all of the UI has been mocked up and the art for the various main menu UI was completed! I'm pretty proud of all the awesome art that Chelsea was able to do for me last year.
changedThis year I hope to get the in-game UI artwork done and some more props (there are some really awesome ones being worked on) done by Cindy. All the while I will continue to learn Unreal and improve the game and move it towards something that everyone would love to play!
addedI did some really cool stuff with the skill tree last month and added the functions to modify abilities as well as the character stats. It's mostly mock UI still but all of that works.
addedIf you've made it this far, what does everyone think about crafting weapons and armor? I'm thinking about adding that since the upgrade system I made is basically there already and it would just be a new UI page. The gear drop rate feel pretty good and there's tons of things to collect but I just really like crafting also. So I think I make work on that this year also.

Most of my updates are shown and discussed on social media and in 2024 somewhere around 170 days worth of work was done after launching the Steam page.
Since not all of you are following me on social media there is no way for you to know that we have kept working!
Going forward I will try to update everyone here about once a month if I am able to do that. I already discuss the monthly progress and thought process behind the game over on the youtube channel. You can see December's progress in this video. https://youtu.be/plIr6ScHbqE?si=MqwEoFy8zvNjyjUT

I already enjoy playing it, but it's just a little test level with about 20 minutes of content so far. There is so much work still to do before I'm happy with sharing any kind of demo. Plus there is another progression system that I plan on building that will be pretty crazy.
