Get your planning tools ready and calibrate your scanners. Update 0.1.10 for Afterdepth has just arrived, bringing the groundwork for what you have been asking for: the ability to build support structures and automate the extraction of heavy resources in the sand.

Highlight: Your Own Industrial Habitat

No more relying solely on pre-existing structures. The biggest feature in this version is the introduction of the Habitat construction system, allowing you to build your own operational base on the sand.

  • Construction Tool: Plan rooms, internal walls, and hatches using a dedicated alignment grid to validate the terrain.

  • The Era of AutomationNew machinery like the Excavator to clear terrain, Conveyor Belts, Ore Elevators, and Silos allow you to create a continuous flow of resources.
  • Structures and Equipment: Install an Industrial Refinery, Construction Bench III, Research Station, a Clone Pod to set your respawn point, and much more.

Highlight: Vein Mining in the Sand

Manual mining has evolved. While you previously collected smaller chunks with your hand pickaxe, you will now have to deal with dense, heavy, and deep resources that require industrial machinery for extraction.

  • Discovery and ExtractionVeins of magnetite, graphite, pitchblende, titanium, and O₂ crystals are now hidden beneath the surface. Use your Scanner to locate them and install the new Industrial Mining Machine on top.
  • Automated Logistics: Connect heavy machinery directly to your logistics system (belts and elevators) to transfer production straight to your silos or refineries.

  • Limited Resources: Stay sharp: veins actually deplete, and this extraction is permanent to your progress.

Highlight: Bunker 09 Adjustments and Onboarding

We worked on making the game flow clearer and more direct during your first hours of exploration.

  • Guided Progression: The mission to restore Bunker 09 now guides your steps much better. Bench Tier II and the elevator panel remain locked with clear visual and audio feedback until the mission objectives are met.

  • Integrated Tutorials: A dynamic tutorial in the Refinery helps you understand how slots and recipes work the first time you open the machine.

  • Smart CraftingThe bench can now read materials stored in nearby fixed deposits and portable chests (~300px), without requiring you to constantly open inventories.

Highlight: Performance and Optimizations

The game runs much smoother! We achieved massive optimizations in rendering (drawing only what is in your field of view) and the lighting system. The frame rate improvement is noticeable when moving through busy areas or bases with many active belts and platforms.

In addition:

  • Save CompatibilityDue to deep changes in the map and resource systems, saves from previous versions are no longer compatible . A new game will be required to enjoy the new features.
  • Life Support: Oxygen behavior in the cave is now more natural. If the LSU runs out of power, it immediately stops supplying the area.

  • Fog of War: The explored map now saves correctly without causing visual cuts or seams upon reloading.

  • Organization: Identical items dropped on the ground now stack automatically to prevent clutter.

Go forth and establish your industrial base, miner!

Full Patch Notes

Added:

  • Habitat structures (planning tool, rooms, internal walls, hatch, validation grid).

  • Terrain Excavator for the base.

  • Item Logistics (conveyor belts, ore elevators, storage silos).

  • Industrial refinery, construction bench III, and research station for the habitat.

  • Clone pod for internal respawn definition.

  • Water tank, bucket, and hose system for fluids.

  • Improvised coal generator and diagonal pneumatic launcher.

  • Research branch focused on Habitat technologies.

  • Hidden deep veins (magnetite, graphite, pitchblende, titanium, O₂ crystal) and Industrial Mining Machine.

  • Water-based O₂ Generator with visual effects and connections.

  • Dedicated tutorial interface for the first time opening the Refinery.

Changed:

  • Saves from previous versions discontinued due to the new map format and data persistence.

  • More realistic oxygen and gas propagation in the cave; unpowered LSU cuts off O₂.

  • New dialogue lines and reactions from the Observer linked to player death events.

  • Improved window navigation and crafting lists, now including scrolling and persistent highlighting after upgrades.

  • Sand cascade physics slightly more stable when digging.

  • Automatic stacking of loose items on the ground when touching.

Fixed:

  • Explored map (fog of war) reloading without visual glitches or map seams.

  • Players now properly follow the movement of moving platforms.

  • Fixed a crash in the research tree when spending points with the window closed or after changing scenes.

  • Visual background layers of habitat rooms properly aligned.

  • Fixed immediate material counting from deposits upon first opening the bench.
