Oi, brothers!
The sixth hero we promised you — the King — is finally here!!
We’re really sorry for keeping everyone waiting for so long. To make sure he feels right, the King went through one very painful full rework T T
That’s why he took so much time...
But the good news is: today, we’re finally serving him up~
The sixth hero — King | Playtest Now Live!
The King is a card player who can pile up mountains of treasure, combining pressure, explosive card play, and unique special abilities.
In other words, he can easily build up massive high-value bombs and give himself a huge hand of cards to choose from. But before you spend your fortune down to nothing, you’d better find a way to clean out your hand...
👑King · Playtest Now Live!
To make sure the new hero feels good to play, while also making sure he doesn’t break the current hero balance — and doesn’t end up too deep in the gutter either —
We’ll be running a 1-week playtest first. Everyone can join. After that, we’ll move the King to the official branch.
Joining is very simple. You just need to manually switch to the playtest branch:
Right-click “Apokerlypse” in your Steam Library
Select “Properties”
Go to “Game Versions & Betas”
Enter “2026PlayerTest” under “Private Versions”
Steam will automatically download the update. Once it’s done, just launch the game normally.
Once you’re in the game, the King will be available~~
New skills, new chips, and a playstyle completely different from the previous five heroes. We’ll leave the details for everyone to discover on their own~

If you have any thoughts after playing — too strong, too weak, something feels off, something is bugged — just come tell us directly in the Discord groups. 👇 The producer and many developer “pros” are all there!
During the playtest, we’ll be keeping a close eye on feedback in the groups. Every suggestion will help us tune — or discipline — the King into better shape.
What’s Next - The Playtest Will Last About 1 Week
During this period, we’ll keep adjusting based on your feedback. If something needs fixing, we’ll fix it. If something needs tuning, we’ll tune it.
If everything goes smoothly, the King will go straight to the official branch once the playtest ends!
Oh, and by the way, we’ll also be announcing a major update plan next week. Please look forward to it!!
