Dear Players,
After meticulous craftsmanship and dedicated refinement, we are thrilled to officially announce that Zodiac Mountain, a deck-building Roguelike inspired by the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shan Hai Jing), developed by Mystic Road and published by Phoenix Games, will launch into Early Access on August 14, 2026!
The zodiac cycles, and the mountain calls. At its core, Zodiac Mountain draws upon the rich heritage of the Chinese Twelve Zodiac signs. Players take on the role of a young panda embarking on a sacred pilgrimage to ascend the mountain and undergo a series of trials. Along the way, you will battle fearsome beasts drawn from the Shan Hai Jing and other ancient Chinese mythological texts, ultimately challenging the Twelve Zodiacs themselves to earn the recognition of these legendary guardians.
The game's system is deeply rooted in the principles of Yin and Yang from traditional Chinese philosophy. Players must build two separate hands—a Yin hand and a Yang hand—and cleverly leverage the Yin-Yang conversion mechanic to trigger synergistic effects and defeat their foes. With procedurally generated trial paths and a vast array of cards and relics, every run offers a distinctly unique experience.
We would also like to extend our special thanks to ScreenWest and Screen Australia for providing funding support that helped bring this project to life.
A free demo of Zodiac Mountain is available on Steam. We encourage interested players to download the Demo and try it out first-hand. Thank you for your patience and continued support. See you on August 14!
