YOU vs Zombies changes
Attention Survivors,
During routine maintenance in the bunker we discovered a few zombies gnawing on some of the wiring.
We’ve repaired the wiring, closed the temporal loophole, and made a number of fixes to ensure your mission to save the world runs a little more smoothly.

🧑 Survivor Issues
The gimp survivor should no longer spawn in every level.
This individual appears to have slipped through a very specific timeline loophole and was showing up far more often than intended.
We’ve now closed that particular temporal rift.
Luckweaver archetype was receiving far too little luck. Which was unlucky. Fixed.
Character screen now displays your hero’s custom colors behind their portrait.
🧟 Zombie Behavior
Exploding zombies now correctly run towards the hero before exploding. Previously, they were suffering from some premature detonation.
New zombie spawning system implemented, ensuring attacks now come from all directions, which feels much more on-brand for the apocalypse.
Zombies’ hands should no longer detach while running extremely fast.
Bosses can no longer be slowed or snared. They’ve adapted. We blame evolution.
🎯 Gameplay & Objectives
Difficulty curve v1.0 implemented. Later levels are still a bit brutal, but adjustments are ongoing.
Protect objectives fixed so zombies no longer spawn forever. Infinite zombies felt a little unfair, even by apocalypse standards.
Objectives now include hyper-personalized gameplay lines from Ash, Morgan, NPCs and occasionally your hero.
Marker pointing at survivors is now smaller and no longer hides behind UI elements.
Map screen level unlocks are now punchier.
⚙️ Systems & Spells
The AI-modifiable spell currently known as “projectile” now fires more zombie-killing balls of death, with a higher minimum.
Instances of the word “you” in the opening cut-scene that refer to the player are now displayed in red.
🗺️ World Fixes
Truck at the north end of the industrial area now correctly has collision. Zombies were hiding inside it like undead squatters.
Pass on all spawn points in all levels (positioning)
Survivor status text replaced with icons.
Traffic cone audit completed:
Car park cones were indestructible
Shopping center cones had far too much health
Airport cones behaved as if they were made of lead
Cone durability has now been standardized across the apocalypse.
🔮 The Ritual
The Ritual UX flow has been tidied up and is now officially v1.0. Summoning heroes from across the timeline should now feel smoother.
Character creation failure messages have been updated.
The error message when attempting to create a character that goes against our safety guidance is now significantly shorter.
