Hi everyone!

We've been working on a lot of smaller improvements throughout the game. This update includes two major changes:

  • Tile collisions now follow the visual shape of tiles more closely. This means character movement will feel smoother, especially on tiles that aren't perfectly square.

  • The minimap can now be resized to show more of the surrounding area. It will also update correctly when you pick up a map item.

Here's the complete changelog:

Gameplay

  • Improved tile collision detection to more closely match tile geometry.

  • Refined character movement when interacting with vertical surfaces, resulting in smoother collision handling and reduced frustration.

  • Updated enemy navigation and movement to follow the new tile collision shapes.

  • Adjusted upward enemy-hit pushback behavior:

    • Pushback now only occurs when the enemy survives the hit.

    • If the enemy is defeated, player movement continues uninterrupted.

  • Fixed an issue where landing from significant heights onto bounce platforms could incorrectly trigger the Big Landing animation.

  • Fixed unintended player movement occurring while aiming.

  • Hitting an enemy now resets the player's downward momentum, preventing Big Landing from triggering incorrectly afterward.

Challenges & Achievements

  • Fixed the Sunken City challenge effect reappearing after loading a saved game.

  • Fixed the "Speedy Gonzales" achievement unlocking when entering any door. The achievement is now awarded only when re-entering the secret door as intended.

UI & UX

  • Fixed Minimap Enhance activation so it only triggers through button input while outside menus.

  • Fixed the minimap not updating correctly after collecting a map item.

  • Disabled Pause Menu button interactions while returning to the Main Menu.

  • Disabled Main Menu button interactions until the fade-to-black transition has fully completed.

  • Improved menu navigation responsiveness when returning from gameplay, ensuring default button focus is restored immediately.

  • Added item icons to door interaction prompts to better indicate consumable requirements.

Saving & Progression

  • The game now automatically saves when opening Wormino's door.

Visual & Animation Fixes

  • Fixed issues causing enemy corpses to vibrate unexpectedly.

Audio

  • Fixed combat music behavior in The Loop, Overgrown, Capitol, Hidden City, Depths, and Temple.

  • Fixed a missing jumping platform sound effect in Overgrown Passage.

Levels & Checkpoints

  • Fixed an issue in Overgrown Passage where players could respawn above the jumping platform checkpoint.
