Worlds Upon The Wind changes
This update adds new shard shapes, a central settler quests menu (after the main quest), various quality of life improvements, and a few bug fixes. Thanks to everyone for submitting your suggestions and bug reports!
As usual, all applicable changes are also in the demo.
New Shard Shapes
Expeditions starting after this update will have their maps generated from a larger pool of shard shape templates. This doesn't have much gameplay impact, but should help your shards better stand out from each other. Here are a few examples of shards that could not have been generated previously:
Settler Quests Hub
After you finish the main quest, a notice board will appear in the haven. From here, you can access all the currently available settler quests. This UI highlights quests you haven't previously completed and supports search. The quests shown here are the same ones you could access by speaking to individual NPCs, but if you aren't feeling chatty, it is a more convenient way to load up on tasks.
Accessible Essence Icons v2
Several people have told me that it's hard to tell whether some essence slots are empty or filled, especially those of Radiance essence. This update addresses this feedback as follows:
The Radiance essence icon has been adjusted to have less negative space.
Slots now show whether they are empty or filled in their tooltips.
The "Accessible" essence icon style has been renamed "Standard".
A new fully solid essence icon style has been added, which is now named "Accessible".
Informative Adapt Invocations
This one is very minor, but I find it neat, so it gets its own section. Glyphs with Adapt invocations in your hand now tell you which essences they may create, based on the current contents of your hand.
Quality of Life Improvements
Added an option to disable particle effects like smoke and water splashes, which may help performance on older machines and fix visual artifacts on older Mac systems.
Added search boxes to shard culture lists, both in the haven and in the likely cultures menu accessible from the pause menu.
Added support for right-clicking relic icons to open their museum page.
Added the ability to set the framerate cap to higher values and disable capping entirely (not recommended).
The customizable art decorations in the Haven now also allow survey encounter backgrounds to be used. They can now also be right-clicked to open the related piece in the art viewer.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a copy of the glyph stored with the Snake companion being added to the discards.
Fixed some textures not loading on older Mac systems.
Fixed the +X label (that appears when you have too many relics to display) truncating on hover.
Fixed the "other relics" drawer appearing under the shaded background if accessed while a modal menu is open.
Fixed the quest list pop-up not being closeable if a stage is reloaded while it is open.
Fixed missing clouds in the unexplored parts of the map.
Fixed some shard culture requirements incorrectly showing up as failed if checked while the relevant event is in progress.
Fixed several typos and awkward grammar.
