We are TEAM42, the devs behind the upcoming casual MMORPG, ‘World of Slime.’

In our last Dev. Note, we introduced "Taming" and "Synthesis", the two ways to meet your very own slimes.

But where do all those slimes go once you meet them?

Today, we’re here to answer that! Let’s talk about the Slimepedia, and how your growing "Slime Knowledge" becomes the ultimate power-up for your journey.

Fill Up Your Slimepedia with Cute Slimes!

When you tame a slime for the first time, a brand-new entry pops up in your Slimepedia. It records exactly where you met and how you became buddies. Found a totally unexpected slime through synthesis? That "New Note" will be saved in your Slimepedia, too!

When designing the Slimepedia, the feeling we cared about most was the joy of filling it up. We didn’t want it to be just a boring checklist counting your slimes. Instead, we wanted it to feel like a photo album that brings back the memories of your journey every time you flip the pages. Since every player meets slimes at different times and places, your Slimepedia will become your very own unique adventure log.

We had a lot of brainstorming sessions during development. Figuring out how much of an undiscovered slime to show in the Slimepedia was especially tricky. If we hide everything, you won’t know what to aim for next; but if we show too much, it ruins the fun of discovery. To find that perfect spot of "leaving a hint but hiding the answer," we are constantly tweaking the system based on internal tests and playtest feedback.

Level Up Your Slime Knowledge!

The Slimepedia isn't just fun to look at. The more you tame the same type of slime, or the more time you spend traveling together to boost your bond, the more Slime Knowledge you'll gain. As your knowledge grows, you'll unlock handy exploration skills and even tap into the hidden, powerful abilities of your slimes.

That’s why in World of Slime, studying your slimes is just as important as leveling up. We wanted to make sure that hunting isn't the only way to get stronger. Instead, learning more about your gooey friends is a form of growth, too!

The moments we hope you'll enjoy most with the Slimepedia are things like:

• “Where can I find this slime again?”

• “What cool new side of this little buddy will unlock once I know them better?”

• “Who is going to fill this next blank space?”

As you tame, synthesize, and record, your Slimepedia will naturally transform into a storybook that belongs only to you! In our last note, we mentioned that "every player will have a unique story," and the Slimepedia is where those stories actually come to life.
