World of Sea Battle changes
We’re starting to publish answers to the community’s most frequently asked questions. Thank you for your feedback, suggestions, and discussions – they help us improve the game in the right direction. Below are answers to some of the most common questions you asked:
Wind Rose
When will the Wind Rose system be fixed or reworked? Why was it introduced in the first place? We’ll soon update the Wind Rose system, making it more powerful and convenient to use.
Originally, this mechanic was designed to give ships an advantage when sailing against the wind. However, after the sailing system was introduced, the new mechanics started conflicting with the old ones, and the system no longer works the way we intended.
We tried adjusting the optimal sailing angles so these ships would perform better on the open sea. Based on your feedback, we can see that this is not enough.
We absolutely do not intend to ignore this issue. We’ll continue improving and refining the system until the result satisfies the majority of players.
Account Transfers
When will account transfers between servers become available, and how will they work? Progress transfer will become available around the same time as the launch of the new server. At first, the system will operate in a test mode — this will help us ensure that everything works smoothly and without issues for players. During this period, account transfers will only be available through a special request form.
After the testing phase is complete, transfers will become fully automatic and available directly through the in-game settings.
It is extremely important for us that account transfers work reliably and securely — which is why we are conducting this testing phase.
PvP and PvE Balance
How do you plan to balance PvP and PvE? The latest update confirmed that PvP and PvE in our game are essentially two different worlds. We do not plan to force them together or make players choose one over the other against their will.
Our goal is to develop both directions equally actively, but independently from one another. We want PvP enthusiasts and peaceful PvE players to avoid interfering with each other while still being able to easily try both playstyles.
Right now, a large part of our focus is aimed at improving PvP systems. This is because they directly affect the faction system, which we continue to expand and refine. After this stage, we plan to move on to larger-scale PvE improvements and content expansion.
Here’s what will change:
We’ll improve mechanics that currently create problems for PvE players.
We’ll remove some player restrictions and reconsider access to content.
We’ll rebalance rewards: PvP will remain riskier but potentially more profitable, while PvE will provide slightly lower but more stable and safer rewards.
There are plenty of new PvE activities ahead, but we certainly won’t forget about PvP players either. We’ll continue running surveys more often and closely monitoring your feedback. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts!
Reputation System
Are there any planned changes to the reputation system? We’re planning to improve the reputation system in the near future. Our goal is to make it impossible — or simply pointless — to abuse the system, rather than trying to solve everything manually through moderation.
We also want to fix situations where you are left alone in combat while allies cannot help because they would receive a penalty for doing so. We’ll remove these kinds of situations — the system should properly recognize where there is a real battle and where there isn’t.
Overall, we’ll work on making reputation behavior clearer and more predictable, along with a number of smaller quality-of-life adjustments.
Port Battles
Are any improvements planned for port battles? Yes. In the near future, we’re planning a series of experimental changes related to the “charge-up” (battle initiation) system and port battles overall.
Our goal is to improve the current situation and evaluate how these changes affect gameplay. This is only the first step: we’ll assess the results in practice before moving on to larger-scale reforms, if they prove necessary.
