Paris, 1920. The city is turning to sand.

For the first time, you can step into it.

The Wonderfall demo is on Steam. For around 25 minutes, you'll play as Léon, a young orphan able to manipulate sand, as he sets out across the Île de la Cité toward Notre-Dame, looking for something Ernest is convinced can stop the collapse.

What's in the demo

The approach to Notre-Dame. The cathedral has been the heart of Paris for eight centuries. In Wonderfall, it is also where the first roots of something else begin to break through the stone.

Your first sand abilities. Léon can shape the substance that is devouring his city. You'll learn to use it to traverse what was once impassable, and to keep moving when the world stops cooperating.

Ernest on the radio. The man who raised Léon guides him from a distance. The demo is your first real conversation. More than 2,000 lines are waiting in the full game.

One puzzle that opens the story. Wonderfall isn't built around execution or mastery. Its puzzles exist to make you look, listen, and understand. The demo gives you one. Small in scale, larger in what it reveals.

A note on what this demo is

Wonderfall is a narrative adventure, so we built this demo specifically for the occasion rather than carving it out of the opening hours. It's designed to show you what the game is, its world, its pace, its ideas, without spoiling what makes it land. The final experience will differ from what you play here, sometimes meaningfully.

What to expect, and what not to

The pacing is the pacing of the full game: contemplative, observed, deliberate. You're meant to take it in. If you finish wanting to know what Entropy actually is, what happened to this city, and who Léon is to the people looking for him, that's the game.

It's a six to eight hour narrative experience. One Paris, written carefully.

Practical information

  • Demo playtime: approximately 20 to 30 minutes

  • Save data does not carry over to the full release

  • Full controller and keyboard support

Tell us what you found

If you play the demo, we'd genuinely like to hear from you, either in the Steam Community Hub or on our Discord. We read everything, and demo feedback shapes the game that ships.

If you'd like to follow the rest of the road to launch (release date reveal, soundtrack, a long post about the real and imagined Paris of 1920), wishlist Wonderfall. It's the single most useful thing you can do for a small studio like ours.

Thank you for being here for this.
