In the end, that's almost how it went. Just not because I planned it that way.

The original plan looked like this:

  1. Three weeks before completion, I make the plan with my buddy from the Netherlands.

  2. I put together the scenes from Where Are You? for him.

  3. He handles editing and sound.

  4. Everyone enjoys a cinema-worthy Where Are You? trailer.

Three weeks out, my buddy suddenly went quiet. After praying about it, his answer came five days later: "I'm here, let's get started."

Now everything was ready, and I thought: here we go. There were still two weeks left.

Nothing again. Another prayer. Another answer: "I've got a new job, I can't help you."

Panic mode kicked in — only 6 days left.

So I threw something together myself and sent it to my buddy, hoping it might still help.

Around the same time, I got to know someone on Twitch. He gave me feedback on my Steam page over Discord, and I asked him about the trailer. Turned out he actually knew his way around it. What a relief.

Then came the whole back-and-forth between the Netherlands, Germany, and the US.

In the end, the trailer came together after all. Thank God.

Speaking of God: I'm very grateful to him for sending me such a capable person, exactly when my buddy couldn't continue and I was in real trouble.

Over the course of developing Where Are You?, there have been more stories like this one.

Wishlist Where Are You? now, so you don't miss any of them — or, of course, the release!
