The Wittengrad you see in the screenshots is, in a sense, a scale model. I didn't have the resources to build hundreds of unique townhouses, so I consciously created only two building models. Only that, and yet, that's everything. Instead of playing architect, I’m playing set designer. The whole trick lies in the composition, the right lighting, and the fog.

This was a deliberate design choice. Through their repetition, the play of light, and the ever-present mist, I’ve created a labyrinth designed to evoke claustrophobia and a sense of being trapped. I don’t need hundreds of unique facades to show you a city that "curses its inhabitants"—all it takes is the right atmosphere and the rhythm in which you experience it.

O.O.O. F.U.C. Methodology

(One-man Operational Framework for Under-resourced Construction)

  • O – Only What’s Necessary: Stripping away details that players won't notice to focus entirely on what builds the atmosphere.

  • O – Optical Illusions: Using fog and lighting to mask the fact that the game world is a set.

  • O – One-Hour Intensity: Focusing on a short, dense experience instead of unnecessarily bloating the game.

  • F – Fragmented Architecture: Building an entire city using just two building models.

  • U – Utmost Pacing: Directing the player's attention exclusively to key narrative points.

  • C – Composition Over Detail: Prioritizing scene layout and framing over the tedious refinement of every square meter of the map.

Every Wishlist helps me reach players who appreciate original, atmospheric productions.

See you in Wittengrad, The Developer
