Within the Cosmos changes
Hi everyone! It's been a few months since the last update, I've been busy working on my next project, while also working on fixes and changes for Within the Cosmos. This update includes a few new additions, along with more bug fixes, Quality-of-Life improvements, as well as general polish.
Here's what's included in today's update:
General Fixes
New and unique achievement icons added.
Resolved issue with NPC in the Storage Facility not progressing the quest state after being freed.
Added additional logic to make the NPC 'Matthew Gillan' leave the room he was stuck in, in an effort to resolve ambiguity.
Added missing VO for 'Matthew Gillan'.
Fixed Salton sky rendering issue where black visual artefacts could appear.
Adjusted Alios' scale within Salton's skybox.
Fixed rare issue where some 'Parts' in containers incorrectly granted Credits.
Corrected UI image for the 'Memory Core' mission item.
Updated 'Memory Core' static mesh to a unique model.
Made visual adjustments to the 'Axe' melee weapon.
Updated several 'Software' UI elements to more accurately reflect their intended functionality.
Polished Spanish and French localisations.
Quality of Life Improvements
Fixed issue where UI tabs did not correctly display whether there are Skill Points, Perk Points, or NIMs that have yet to be used.
Adjusted tabs text alignment across the UI.
Fixed issue where switching to the Software tab had a delay that allowed unintended player movement during tab transitions.
Fixed issue where the cursor could disappear when navigating from the Map tab to other tabs, most notably the Software tab.
Fixed issue where the cursor could lag when switching from the Map tab to the Character tab.
Updated dialogue UI so all choices now display corresponding numeric options for improved readability.
Added a 'Voice' volume slider to audio settings to allow players to adjust the volume for dialogues/barks.
Fixed issue where some VO was incorrectly affected by the Sound Effects volume slider.
Ensured all dialogue and NPC barks are correctly affected by the Master Volume setting.
Adjusted the effects consumables give to make each item more unique.
Improved consumable effect descriptions to clearly communicate the buffs and debuffs that the items will give.
Console commands now display a list of available commands.
Prevented players from initiating dialogue with Captain Williams while he is already delivering dialogue or barks.
Gameplay Changes
Added ability to block melee attacks with melee weapons.
Resolved potential progression-based issues in Vesta.
Increased turret HP for Normal and Hard difficulties.
Adjusted turret damage scaling so damage output increases with difficulty.
Adjusted turret HP and damage scaling to increase progressively throughout the game.
'Huskrot' now correctly grants +20 HP when consumed outside of the inventory.
'Thornrush' now correctly grants +20 HP when consumed both in equipment and when consumed outside of the inventory.
Increased 'Green Peas' HP gain to +15.
Increased 'Red Beans' HP gain to +20 and added +1 Strength (30s).
'Chickpeas' now grant +1 Intelligence (30s).
'Zip!' now grants +1 Dexterity (30s) and -1 Constitution (30s).
'Itz N Bitz' now applies Dexterity -1 (60s).
'Medigel' HP gain increased to +40.
'Frunchios' now grants +25 HP.
'Paxidrin' now grants +1 Strength.
Items no longer grant attribute bonuses if the attribute would exceed 10, nor subtract if attributes would fall below 1.
