Wildsite changes
IMPORTANT
Warning: Because of the extensive rework to the quest and resource systems, old save files are now corrupted and will no longer work.
We sincerely apologize for the lost progress. We are currently working on a more robust save system for future updates to prevent total corruption when we push major changes.
🆕 What's New:
* Graphics API Overhaul: The game has been upgraded to DirectX 12 on Windows (replacing DX11) and Vulkan on Linux for better modern hardware utilization.
* Environmental Optimization: New trees, grass, and bushes designed for better performance.
* Prologue Tweaks: Refined the first 5-10 minutes of the ship sequence.
* Unity Engine Upgrade: Updated from Unity 6.0 to Unity 6.3, granting an immediate ~7% FPS increase.
* Systems Rework: New respawn system and death mechanics, including the Replication Station.
* Multitool Crafting: You can now craft basic recipes directly from the start. Hold Q while the Multitool is equipped to access the player crafting menu.
* Station Logistics: All stations are now crafted via the Multitool instead of the 3D-Printer.
* Combat Rework:
Weapon overhaul for the Stone Axe, Stone Spear, and others.
New Grenades: Resource-Pop, Zero-G, and HE Grenades.
You can now run while holding grenades (standard weapons still restrict running).
The Multitool now deals a massive 1 DPS... use it wisely.
* Non-Linear Quests: Quests have been reworked to feel less restrictive; complete them in any order you like.
* Accessibility: Adjusted crafting levels for several items to make them more accessible early on.
* Performance & QoL:
Mining system rework for smoother performance.
Dodge system overhaul (Press C + WASD).
General texture optimizations.
Quick Consume: Right-click food in the menu to eat instantly.
Added new sound effects and Bob comments.
- Steam Deck & Low-End OptimizationReduced the general map's GameObject count by 40% , resulting in a 15–30% FPS boost on lower-spec devices.
New Hotkeys UI to assist new players.
* World & Creatures:
T2 Resources: Stones and trees are now more visually distinct (larger models generally indicate T2).
- Floating PlasmaA new wisp-like entity. It's peaceful until you hit it - then it gets angry.
New Enemy: The Baby Boar.
* Multiplayer: Improved mining resource synchronization.
* Move-on-Mesh: New system for resource nodes. It works as intended about 90% of the time, but still needs a little love.
🛠️ Fixes:
* Multiplayer Stability: Multiple fixes for joining friends, storage synchronization, and resource mining sync.
* Inventory Overflow: Fixed a bug reported by AmethystOwl39 regarding item overflow.
* Visual Sync: Fixed the Plasma Pistol in multiplayer so other players can see exactly where you are aiming.
* Environment: Fixed a bug that broke the material scale on rocks.
🐛 Known Bugs (working on them):
* Move-on-mesh system: Still requires further refinement.
* Cave Lighting: Not currently functioning as intended.
* River Textures: Issues appearing at night, closely related to the lighting bugs.
