Wildsite changes
We are excited to roll out a major stability and quality-of-life patch focused on improving performance across the board and making huge strides toward full Steam Deck compatibility.
We've tackled numerous bugs and added features that should make your survival a bit less frustrating
BOB: Attention. I have implemented a large volume of code changes. This should drastically reduce your opportunities to blame the system for your own failures.

* Camera and player movement redesigned to feat controller use
* Removed death animations on animals
* Added new destroy effect on animals death
* Added overheating chance on Multitool and plasma/laser weapons
* Multitool lasers can do damage (1dmg/s) to animals and enemies; use it as a last resort

🫣 Fixes: 🫣

* Fixed loading screen on "Back to menu" button
* Fixed enemies awareness level when shooting with plasma bullets from afar (> 15m)

* Fixed a bug when dropping Silica, Iron and Coal would spawn Gold $$
* Fixed a memory leak made by AI that lead to performance lost and sometimes game freezing for 0.2 seconds
* Fixed visual artifacts that appeared on rocks or terrain
🐛 Known bugs (working on them): 🐛
* River textures are visible at night
* Steam Deck: drag and drop now works only from touchscreen (controller shortcut B + A on controller for now)
* Controller: some UI elements can't be used with a controller or are difficult to navigate to them (work in progress)

Future Steam Deck Improvements
We are committed to make the Steam Deck experience seamless (but this takes time):
UI: We are working to improve the UI experience on the Steam Deck and any controller (right now some elements still require touchpad or are difficult to navigate to them)
Performance: Every patch will include targeted performance boosts to maintain high frame rates on Steam Deck or low-performance PCs
Thank you for your patience!
Cheers,
The Dev Team
