Devlog Update – Wild West Blast: Reimagined
Here’s a short update on the current development progress of Wild West Blast: Reimagined.
Over the past weeks, the technical foundation of the project has taken solid shape and several core systems are now in place:
Steam multiplayer functionality is integrated Hosting, joining, and inviting players via Steam is fully functional. This currently serves as the basis for the upcoming coop campaign and can later be expanded to support additional multiplayer modes.
Main menu and settings are implemented The main menu flow is complete, including essential settings, providing a stable transition from startup into gameplay.
Player movement has been fine-tuned Core movement, sprinting, stamina usage, and overall responsiveness are now dialed in and match the intended fast-paced FPS feel.
Weapon and ammo systems are implemented on a technical level The core weapon framework is in place, including firing logic, ballistics, damage handling, reload behavior, and hit feedback. In addition, a first version of the ammo system is already implemented, featuring multiple ammunition categories:
Small Ammo
Medium Ammo
Large Ammo
These categories currently serve as structural placeholders and will be refined and balanced during further development. Weapons are still using placeholder visuals; adapting them to the Wild West setting and fine-tuning their behavior is the next major step.
With this groundwork established, the development focus now shifts toward content and identity:
Final weapon visuals and mechanical fine-tuning
Development of the first campaign content, designed to scale from solo play to 1–4 player coop
More updates will follow as development continues.
