The sands are shifting… Skarner has arrived on the Rift!

This patch brings the Crystal Vanguard's rework to Wild Rift, alongside some balance changes aimed at helping underperforming champions and items find their footing. Let's dig in.

Reminder: content will be released throughout the patch.

NEW

SKARNER, THE PRIMORDIAL SOVEREIGN

The ancient, colossal brackern Skarner is revered in Ixtal as one of the founding members of its ruling caste, the Yun Tal. Devoted to keeping his nation safe from the rest of the world, Skarner dwells in a chamber beneath Ixaocan where he can hear the vibrations of the earth and detect potential threats. As more members of the Yun Tal begin questioning Ixtal's self-isolation, Skarner grows increasingly paranoid and will do anything to keep Ixtal and its people safe—no matter the cost.

Skarner will be released on June 12 at 00:01 UTC.

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

ITEMS

Infinity Edge

Crit-based marksmen have been underperforming, and Infinity Edge has been weaker than intended. We're giving the item a boost to help crit carries scale more effectively into the mid and late game.

Base Stats

  • Attack Damage: 60 → 65

Black Cleaver

Black Cleaver has fallen behind other fighter item options. We're doubling down on its armor-shredding strengths to make it a more compelling choice for champions that can fully utilize it.

Sunder

  • Maximum stack for Armor reduction: 4 → 5 (Maximum armor reduction ratio: 24% → 30%)

Chase

  • Sunder stacks to trigger Bonus Movement Speed: 4 → 5

RUNES

Demolish

Demolish has been applying too much pressure to turrets, often allowing tanks and juggernauts to secure excessive plate gold with a single proc. We're lowering its damage while shortening its cooldown, shifting its power away from burst siege potential and toward more consistent use during extended pushes.

  • Damage: 200 + 30% Maximum Health → 100 + 22% Maximum Health

  • Cooldown: 35s → 30s

SPELLS

Chilling Smite

We're continuing to reduce damage from non-champion sources and put more emphasis on player execution. Chilling Smite will now focus more on its slowing utility and less on burst damage.

  • True damage to champions: 38 – 183.6 (based on level) → 40 at all levels.

SYSTEM

Red Brambleback

We're reducing damage from systems outside of champions, items, and runes to place greater emphasis on player execution. As part of that effort, we're lowering Scorching Crown's damage against champions while preserving its jungle clear effectiveness as much as possible.

Crest of Cinders

  • Burn damage per second to champions: 6 – 34 (based on level) → 5 – 15 (based on level, scales starting at level 6)

  • Burn damage per second to non-champions: 3–17 (based on level) → 5–15 (based on level, scales starting at level 6)

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed a bug where the description for the item Navori Quickblades was incorrect.

  • Fixed a bug where the item Hullbreaker would continue to buff nearby minions after its owner died.
