Where They Go changes
Where is development currently?
We have been quite for a while now. It's not because we have slowed down, but rather we have been very focused on the development of the full game. Last year we decided we wanted a few more mechanics in the game to increase replay ability and Player strategy and create more rewarding exploration. So with that, I am going to update a few things here about what have been working on.
We had originally scrapped this idea early on. But, found that a simpler approach worked well and added depth we enjoyed. You will find Blueprints throughout the world that unlock craftable items that you can use to distract, monsters more efficiently, help you navigate, improve efficiency when gather resources and even protect you in dangerous environments. You will need to craft these with resources like Metal
Wood
Ceramic
and Glass You will be able to gather a few resources by yourself by just looting, but if you really want to gather higher amounts you will need to engage with another system.
Service Dolls are like resource gathering minions you can recover and put to work breaking down structures to gain larger amounts of resources. You will need to check in with them and make sure they are charged. Additional items can be crafted to help them speed up their production as well.
Rites are Where They Go's perk system. You will have to find a Rite in the world, then go to your crafting table to craft them and equip them. These will help you alter your gameplay to help you through more challenging sections or with a system that you may be having trouble with.
Work on the world as a whole is progressing well. We are excited to show you so much more of the hotel and to give you plenty to get lost in exploration. With al this extra space we wanted to make sure you had some company.
The Glut lives beneath the Hotel in the Utility District. Unlike the Witch he is not blind. He isn't as fast as the Witch either, but he has ways of ambushing you and stunning you by throwing objects at you. He is very smart, but in the tight halls of the Utility District he is an efficient killer.
This is only a small taste of what we have been working on. We will post more updates here as we go. Expect major overhauls to
UI
Monster AI

and exploration
We look forward to share more updates soon and sharing the full game of Where They go in the future. Thank you for your support. If you like our work and would like to support us, please share with friend and get them to Wishlist the game. It's the easiest and best thing you can do for smaller indies like us. Thank you!
