DEVBLOG#1 - THE WAGON

Howdy stranger! Come sit by the fire.

This is the first entry for our devlog as we venture into the perilous lands of Early Access.

We’ve decided to start talking a bit more about one of our key features of the game, the Wagon customization.

🐴The Wagon

Since the inception of the concept behind Westlanders, our team had a clear vision about the role that we wanted the Wagon to play in the game.

For those venturing to the Westlands, having a mobile base of operations and a means to haul heavy resources across state borders meant everything and is part of the challenge that we are aiming to picture in the game.

During the game, each player will be able to build and operate their own wagon, or take a seat with another player. Along Early Access, our team will be releasing multiple wagons for players to craft, each with their own stats, campsite layout, attachment slots, and even unique features.

Planning a trip ahead properly is a key piece of the puzzle when venturing far away from your main base. Fitting your wagon to the environment and stocking up in resources will be key to a successful expedition!

⛺Campsite

Finding a natural shelter in the midst of the wilderness isn’t common, but luckily, we can deploy a campsite with our Wagon. Look for a good spot to stop and deploy your campsite at either side and you are ready to stop and plan your next steps.

The campsite will have a series of slots for deployables to be set, so you can quickly deploy or pack it already with all you need. Portable workbenches, campfires, a bedroll, or even just a hanging spot to kick back and relax and some examples of how you will be able to customize your camp.

Enter into the Wagon management menu and rearrange these deployables simply dragging and dropping them across and make the most out of your available space before venturing forth.
