Weather the Swarm changes
The Swarm Evolves
A huge new update has landed for Weather the Swarm, and this is by far our biggest step forward yet.
We introduced an entirely new system of perks for weapons, created more power ups, and even added a brand-new planet filled with new enemies and a second boss encounter.
The Swarm itself has evolved too. It’s now faster, deadlier, and much more aggressive, creating the pressure and urgency we always envisioned for the game. Farming endlessly is no longer a safe option: survival now means making difficult decisions under pressure.
What’s New
A New Planet unlocks after defeating the first boss, complete with new enemies and environments
A Second Boss Fight has been added at the end of the new biome
Weapon Rarities & Affixes now give weapons randomized powers and progression
New Weapons including the Flamethrower and Bounce Gun
New Safe room where players can rest between levels
New Equipment & Systems such as Shields, XP Chests, explosive barrels, and environmental interactions
Improved Combat Readability with better feedback for damage, healing, slowing effects, and weapon information
Major Swarm Rework making Swarms progressively more dangerous every time they appear
Balancing & Hotfixes
We’ve also been rapidly iterating based on your feedback.
Recent hotfixes focused heavily on difficulty balance, Swarm behavior, progression exploits, and multiple gameplay bugs. The second planetary boss has been strengthened, Swarms are significantly more threatening, and several progression blockers and UI issues have been fixed.
We are still actively tuning the difficulty, pacing, and overall game feel, so your feedback remains incredibly important while we continue shaping the experience.
