Hey Dashers! WaveLand turned 4 today, how about we celebrate with a surprise update?!
The level editor has received some much needed love. It's got new objects, features, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements! Check out all the changes in the patch notes below:
- Editing Improvements -
Added support for single collision/background/platform tiles. Holding space now shows a zoomed out view of the level that you can click on to move around. Holding control with an object copied to the clipboard now displays a ghost to help with pasting.
Terrain auto-tiling has been massively optimized for large levels.
New 5x5 and 10x10 terrain brush sizes for filling in large areas.
New 2x2 and 1x1 grid snapping added.
Grid visual realigned and opacity reduced.
The object menu has been reorganized and the default level has been updated.
Added buttons and hotkeys to move start/coin/finish to the center of the screen. Holding shift while pressing the hotkey will move the camera to them instead.
You can now hide the controls help panel.
Added the ability to precisely modify slider parameters via the mouse wheel.
Selector tool now moves objects more consistently.
Selector tool now highlights objects you are hovering.
Selector tool can now move objects around out of bounds as long as it's not the start/coin/finish.
Selector tool now ghost other objects when moving an object and selected objects now draw above other objects to help with stacking.

Added Locked Doors.
Added Door Keys.
Added Dark Saw and Chain.
Added Saw Director.
Added Crumble Block.
Added Portals.
Added Event Block.
Added Shine Switch.
- Object Changes -
Added toggle on saw blades for noclip (move through collision).
Added toggle on ability gems to remove abilities.
Blue switch blocks now draw solid in the editor.
Both switch blocks now have 3 alternate colors.
Added an animation for when switch blocks switch states.
Increased clock node tick rate maximum to 600.
Dart traps now have a slider for shot speed.
Added a timer setting to levers for automatically switching off after a certain number of frames.
Player detector mode slider now shows names instead of numbers.
Added "inside zone" mode for square player detection.
Player detection area is now shown during editing.
Player detection area is no longer visible if mode is not set to "inside radius/zone".
Note block sample slider now shows the name of the sample.
Added 3 new samples to the note block.
- Playing Custom Levels -
Completing a level after collecting the coin but before it "clicks" into your hud will now properly count as a coin run on custom level leaderboards.
The menu while playing a custom level now shows the name of the level instead of "0-0"
- Bug Fixes & Misc -
When resizing a level the start/coin/finish are now moved into bounds and out of bounds objects are deleted.
Pasted objects no longer snap into bounds.
The dirt tiles that extend below the ground on world 1 and 4 tilesets no longer have collision.
Realigned dart trap shot visual effect.
Fixed a bug introduced in a previous version where bomb block explosions were much larger than intended. Newer levels that relied on this might be broken now.
Fixed a bug causing the level boundaries to be missing on the bottom corners.
Fixed an oversight where bottom right corner tiles were missing collision (only effected gameplay while clipped inside terrain).
Fixed a memory leak that occurred while playing custom levels.
Fixed a bug where the goal orb/dark fragment would not update on the object menu until you tested/reloaded the level after changing the dark level setting.
