changedCombat Upgrade: The original combat system with the Threat/Counter Hint was originally intended just for the tutorial and lowest tier Raiders in the game so players could learn the mechanics. The intended combat system is introduced in this patch, the telegraph (red bar at the top) will still show the anticipated enemy threat and now shows both the effect of that threat and suggested counter in the tutorial scenario, but will only show the effect of the enemy threat in standard games. It is up to players to decide how they want to counter the intended threat with combinations of stances, fighters, util and heat all of which now show their own effects at the bottom of the window. The result of their choice is shown in the Combat Log as a FULL/PARTIAL/FAIL counter message. Repair and Overload now have a limited number of uses per combat, and are restocked automatically. Higher Tier enemies will now also produce 2-3 threats every couple rounds, so you can make the tactical choice of blocking between all or none depending on your playstyle. Timer has increased to 25 seconds to account for additional text reading or you can always disable the Timer completely.
addedNew Saves are not required, though any existing Pirate Sector spawns will not have the new ship types, Pirate Sector respawns will draw from a pool that does.
added3 New Pirate Types are introduced, the ECM Skiff which favors targeting your weapons and has powerful counters to reduce your damage output. A flak cruiser that makes fighter attacks against it extra risky, and a Pirate Carrier with a formidable fighter wing.
addedF12 Steam Screenshot functionality added in via API. You'll hear the screenshot sound as normal and the commlog will display a confirmation message. Access your screenshots via your steam game page as normal! Now everyone start showing off your ship and CRT setups!
