Hi guys! We've been reading your reviews, discussions and e-mails since the game's release and took a lot of feedback on board. TACTICS update brings it all together with some new QoL features, as well as something that changes the game completely. Priority orders.
Tactics
Before the battle begins, you're now able to select a tactic your units use. You can target the closest unit, Ranged Troops, Cavalry or Infantry. Your units will ignore other unit types as long as selected tactic is in effect (until the chosen enemy type is dead).
This means your cavalry can now actually flank and dash for ranged troops, rather than going for the closest enemy every time.
We've also updated how AI works - troops no longer select a target at the beginning and stick to them no matter what - instead they'll re-evaluate the target during the battle, always going for the closest enemy (if that's the chosen tactic).
For now, the AI does not use any other strategy than closest enemy - we're still thinking whether to change that and would love your input on this.
Saved Formations
In Adventure mode you'll find a new button - it will load the troop placement from the previous battle. We found it to be quite useful, especially with specific builds.
Range information
Another QoL that you've requested is ranged information. You're now able to view the range of attack of individual units - both yours and the enemy.
Lastly... we know that some players have had issues with Steam Achievements. A lot of the progress is saved through them (for example unlocking other races by defeating the enemy bosses). We know that the game always works on the second run, but for some it won't do on the first run. Just in case we did add something that should track most important achievements regardless of Steam status, and award them on next run.
