Wanderers' Outpost changes
Preparing for Steam Next Fest!
Hello, Wanderers!
It's been a busy few weeks at Wind Arthouse after we launch the demo, and we're excited to share what we've been working on as we prepare for our biggest milestone yet:
Steam Next Fest
June 15th – June 22nd
The demo is receiving a huge round of improvements and new content, and we can't wait for everyone to try it!
The Wanderer's Journal
One of the biggest additions is the new Wanderer's Journal.
As your settlement grows, important events and discoveries will be recorded, helping tell the story of your outpost and its people. We're aiming for every playthrough to build its own unique history.
The journal has received its own dedicated interface and will continue to grow alongside the game.
Better Dungeon Exploration
Dungeon expeditions have received a significant upgrade.
New additions include:
Dedicated dungeon map.
Dungeon site interface.
Improved exploration flow.
Better expedition management.
Exploring the Isles should now feel much smoother and easier to follow.
Farming & Production
We've continued expanding the economy of your settlement.
New and improved content includes:
Crops
Cotton
Barley
Chickpeas
Corn
Sweet Potato
Amaranth
Various berry crops
Food Production
Campfire meals
Bread
Jams
Tea
Desserts
Preserves
Workshops
Craft Bench
Cotton Loom
Tanning Rack
Tailor Station
Armorer Station
Blacksmith Station
These additions help make your outpost feel more like a living settlement.
More Creatures
The Isles have become a little more dangerous.
Several new creatures and monsters have joined the world, including:
Dire Wolves
Giant Spiders
Giant Scorpions
Alligators
Harpies
Ogres
Basilisks
Chimeras
Rocs
Each helps expand the variety of encounters you'll discover during expeditions.
Art Improvements
We've continued polishing the game's visuals.
Recent work includes:
New crop artwork.
Updated terrain tiles.
Improved building sprites.
Better interface visuals.
More consistent settlement style.
The goal is to make the world easier to read while keeping its hand-crafted charm.
User Interface Improvements
We've made a number of quality-of-life improvements throughout the game.
Including:
Better HUD controls.
Improved mouse support.
Cleaner menus.
Better pawn management.
More intuitive navigation.
Small changes, but they should make managing your outpost much smoother.
Smarter Settlers
Behind the scenes, we've continued improving settlement behaviour.
Your wanderers should now handle everyday tasks more naturally, making the outpost feel more alive and reducing frustrating situations.
