For Players Continuing with Old Saves

To trigger the new Story scenario, players must have finished the Pharmacy Questline and retrieved the egg for Mr. Peffly from Xaide.

Specifically, you need to have completed both

  • Deputy for a Night

  • An Unexpected Invitation

If you haven't, both of these quests have per-requisite of visiting Xaide, and once you are finished with them, visit Caly's room for this new quest to trigger automatically.

Let’s take a look at some of the new things in this one!

Gameplay Highlights:

Vas has a favor to ask. Uh oh...

Vas needs Caly's help with a rather unusual request, but she's keeping the details frustratingly close to the chest. One thing's for certain: favors involving Vas are never straightforward. What exactly has she roped Caly into this time?

Well if Caly plays to Vas's expectations, a spicy Live2D event awaits by the end of it, so I guess we kinda know? :3

Quick on the draw

Combat has been expanded with Quick-Time Events (QTEs) tied directly to many of the new follow-up skills used by enemies. When these abilities are triggered, you'll be prompted to react with a timed button input. Success or failure can dramatically influence the flow of the battle, leading to a wide range of effects- from avoiding devastating attacks to suffering restraints, equipment damage, status effects, and more!

QTE prompts automatically adapt to your preferred control scheme, displaying the appropriate button icons for *Keyboard, Xbox, or PlayStation* controllers to ensure a seamless experience regardless of how you choose to play.

Face off against new challenges

Existing enemies have expanded their arsenal with a variety of new skills, making combat less predictable and more engaging. Charging in and face-tanking every encounter may no longer be the best strategy, as foes now have a few tricks up their sleeves that can quickly turn the tide against you. To samples a few from different foes:

Flamebot

  • Napalm Drench: Sprays sticky napalm across the battlefield, triggering a timed QTE.

Fail: Your movement speed is reduced and you become more vulnerable to thermal damage.

Success: You evade the blast, leaving a pool of slowing napalm behind for enemies to contend with.

Sumura

  • Tidal Ensnarement (QTE): The surrounding slime begins to engulf you, requiring rapid button presses to break free.

Fail: Become restrained while your clothing suffers corrosive damage.

Success: Break free, leaving Sumura slowed for one turn.

  • Slime's Wrath: A charged-up variation of Sea of Spears that blankets part of the arena, forcing players to reposition or risk taking heavy damage.

Urtu Knight

  • Phalanx Counter: The Urtu Knight assumes a defensive stance for one turn. Attacking into it will trigger a powerful shield bash, allowing the knight to lunge forward and retaliate.

  • Breach Explosive (QTE): Throws an explosive at Caly's feet, giving you only moments to react.

Success: Kick the bomb back at the attacker, causing it to explode in their face.

Fail: Fail to react in time and take the full force of the explosion.

Police Grenadier

  • Martyr's Grasp (QTE): As a last resort, the grenadier attempts to tackle Caly before detonating.

Success: Kick them away before they can grab hold, causing them to explode at a safe distance.

Fail: Suffer heavy damage as the explosion tears away your clothing.

...and much more! We'll be sharing a comprehensive breakdown of the new QTE mechanics in a future post, but for now, we invite you to jump in, experiment, and discover all the different outcomes for yourself.
