Fishing was the lifeblood of the Norse folk, especially in coastal communities. Drawn from cold seas and winding rivers, it was a reliable source of food. Preserved by drying or salting, fish could last through long, harsh winters and ocean voyages, and became valuable trade goods.

In the rugged Steineyjar archipelago, fishing is not a pastime. Whether you sail out or cast from the riverbank, the unmistakable redfish will become the taste of home for you and your people. But the waters hold more than the familiar. Deeper below, more elusive creatures wait.

Fear has no place here. Sail out, descendant of Björn the Fearless, and show the gods you are worthy of his legacy.

Beyond Safe Waters

Push further past the familiar coastline, into open waters where the sea turns darker, deeper, and far less forgiving. It is there you will find rare fish and prized ingredients, far beyond the reach of the idle shore. The winds may shift without warning, and not every voyage will end as you planned. But if you return, songs may carry your name further than any tide!

A Test of Skill

Fishing in Vikings Dynasty will test both your patience and your reflexes. You’ll need to learn to read the pull of the water and the tension in the line, to bring home your catch. Push too hard, and the tension will break the line; hesitate, and whatever was on the hook is gone just as quickly as it came.

From Sea to Table

But no Viking table is complete without the bounty of the sea. And while smoked redfish will always remind you of home, the waters have a greater variety to offer. Cod, salmon, flounder, and more can be turned into filling meals, from Hearty fish stew to Wildfire-roasted fish or Aromatic Viking stew, prepared in your own kitchen.
