You start with little. Cold ground, rough tools, and a prayer for the gods to be in your favor. However, from simple materials and a steady routine, a settlement takes shape. One that can stand on its own.

And it all comes down to crafting.

Workshop

Just as any good journey, this one also begins at a workbench.

The workbench is the first place you rely on to turn basic materials into tools and the foundations of survival. In these moments, every crafted item matters - even the simplest ones.

Woodcutter's Hut

One of the main resources that will be with you from the very beginning is wood. Utilise the dense north forests around you! Wood tested by the harsh weather will soon become the skeleton of every building you raise and the fire that will warm you during the long nights.

Smithy

The heat and the ring of metal on metal is an unmistakeable sign of the smithy. Sparks jump with every strike as new tools and weapons take shape under steady hands. These are essential for the growth of you and your settlement. Better tools last longer and allow you to work with resources that were out of reach before.

Well-kept equipment ensures your villagers can work reliably and will be ready to face whatever the wilderness throws at them.

Boat Builder

Every Viking yearns for the steady rhythm of waves, the scent of salt and tar.

Work at the boat builder shifts your focus outward, toward what lies beyond the shorelines. With a shipyard and a longboat ready its time to venture out. The northern seas aren’t new. They’re rough, unpredictable, and worth the effort. You set out because there’s more to be found beyond your land, and now you have the means to reach it.

What you bring back depends on how well you’ve prepared.

Kitchen

Raw food won’t carry you or your villagers far, especially through cold nights and long workdays.

A steady fire and a proper meal keep your people going, and with a proper setup, you get more out of the same resources. Feed them well, and they will reward you with consistent work.
