Victory at Sea Atlantic - World War II Naval Warfare changes
Captains!
We’ve deployed Update 1.0.8.0 for Victory At Sea Atlantic, bringing a wide range of gameplay improvements, bug fixes, balance adjustments, and modding support enhancements.
This update focuses on improving fleet combat behaviour, aircraft operations, campaign immersion, and overall gameplay flow, while also addressing a number of issues reported by the community.
Thank you to everyone continuing to send feedback and bug reports — it really helps us improve the game!
Gameplay Improvements
Added enemy Allied convoys heading to the USSR and Mediterranean.
Increased ship repair rates in shipyards.
Bombers now start combat further out from enemy fleets.
Aircraft flight squadrons can now be rotated during combat setup.
Aircraft are now less effective against overwhelming enemy numbers in autoresolved dogfights.
Added additional AA firepower to AA emplacements during air raids.
Removed the 10-knot civilian ship speed limit.
Non-fighter flights assigned to defend orders will no longer move to engage enemy aircraft.
Spotter flights are now excluded from bombing raids unless under an attack order.
Reassigned sound effects on some larger naval guns.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug where units could vanish from the game if the player entered a distant battle from combat view.
Aircraft will no longer attempt to bomb enemy fleets while evading during autoresolved combat.
Fighter flights will no longer automatically return to base after dropping bombs if they still have gun ammunition remaining.
Enabled the resupply order button when targeting fleets missing only ASW ammunition.
Fixed the minimap resetting position after returning from the pause menu.
Scrapping a ship now correctly returns 100% of its current crew and troops.
Fixed the rotation of the small guns on the Scharnhorst-class battleship.
Corrected the transposed names of the Maryland and Virginia control zones.
Modding
Fixed modded ship sprite loading.
New ships now correctly use their value when calculating cost and commission time.
Added crew and gun columns to aircraft definitions.
