We are excited to present a major update that we’ve been working on intensively for the past 2 months!
Cities on the world map now feature a dynamic"Prosperity Level"and temporary Conditions. The higher the prosperity, the more mercenaries are available and the richer the merchants' inventory becomes. More prosperous cities offer higher quest rewards, but buying and selling prices are also higher. Negative Conditions decrease prosperity, while positive ones increase it. Prosperity also grows by completing city quests, trading, and making donations. In line with this, the quest generation system has been completely overhauled. If a quest to deal with bandits appears in a city, it will now directly affect its Prosperity Level and Conditions.
Other changes:
· New Dwarf unit: The Healer (we are still balancing her, so she is not yet available for hire).
· City Quests: Added two new generated quests that take place within cities. City map generation has been implemented for this purpose.
· Urgency: Almost all quests are now time-sensitive. Typically, you have 30 days to complete them.
· UI: The world map now displays quest deadlines.
· Navigation: If the player's army is off-screen, an arrow at the edge of the screen will point toward its direction.
· Visuals: Added new icons for cities and increased the variety of backgrounds for generated maps.
· Logic: Mercenary and inventory refreshes are no longer tied to the player visiting the city.
· Controls: Camera movement via mouse cursor is now disabled when a menu is open.
· Environment: New preset for cemeteries; demons in caves now appear much less frequently.
· Fixes: Corrected several typos.
Note: Old save files are compatible. Due to the complete overhaul of the quest system, you might encounter some oddities during the first 30 in-game days (e.g., too many quests or duplicates).
