Repeated intro

Venusville changes
Since then, I’ve been hard at work addressing as many of the issues and requests as possible. I also ran intensive testing sessions myself, found more bugs, and fixed many of them. And yes — I’ve also added a few new features and improvements along the way.
Here’s what’s new and fixed in Demo 1.9 Patch 1.
🧭 Improved Tutorial
Tutorial steps and wording have been made clearer and more detailed.
Added an info button on tutorial notifications — it opens the related article in the built in Venopedia.
Updated several steps for clarity:
“Battery” renamed to Power Storage (to match the other UI buttons).
Added step to enable SO₂ mining in the Atmos Miner (was causing confusion).
Water Fountain renamed to Water Cooler and so it is clearer is it in the interior structures > Human Facilities category.
Added “Menu Location” info to Venopedia pages so you can easily find the menus to open to build items.
Tutorial now also includes a step that highlights the Venopedia button, since many players missed it before. It has detailed information on resources, gases, buildings, interiors, recipes
📘 Venopedia & Info Buttons
Added Info buttons to buildings, resources and tutorial notifications, instantly opening the correct Venopedia page. (interior structures coming soon)
Fixed various broken tooltips on building/interior/resource detail panels.
Interior power usage now correctly displays as negative values, matching the building power format.
📊 Resource Bar Overhaul
The resource bar now shows two numbers:
- TopAvailable resources
- BottomTotal (available + booked)
Added new tabs for:
Gases (shows stored gases and mining rates)
Personnel (shows total people & robots, plus working/idle/off-duty counts)
🚶♀️ Pathfinding & Movement
Colonists now move in straighter paths and are less likely to get stuck near doors or walls.
Fixed T-shaped dome middle doorway — it’s now fully walkable.
🏗️ Construction & Buildings
Fixed issue where vertical engines couldn’t be clicked during construction.
Interior structures are now clickable while being built and display required resources (just like buildings).
Added sound effects for rotating and placing buildings, and for notifications.
⚙️ Gameplay Fixes & Improvements
Plastic can now be produced from both starch or chemicals, not just starch.
Fixed bug where balloons using He or H₂ didn’t provide lift (only nitrogen worked).
Fixed camera drifting when controllers or joysticks were plugged in — game now listens only to keyboard/mouse.
Fixed several cases where colonists got stuck in work loops or refused to work (especially biologists).
Most issues were related to power cuts, switching products, or removing interior structures.
Added extra safety checks — these situations should be much rarer now.
If it happens, using “Stop Current Task” can help reset the colonist most of the time.
Fixed rare case where robot name generation could create well-known robot names.
🌱 New Content
Fertilizer can now be produced in the Atmos Factory.
Added Gas Processor building — produces various gases (e.g. NH₃ for fertilizer).
Added Tree Dome (requires fertilizer).
Grow Pads now consume water, so make sure your Atmos Miner is mining H₂O!
Water Coolers now fill up but don’t consume water yet when used (full system coming soon).
Domes now fill up with nitrogen and oxygen — not yet affecting buoyancy or colonists since oxygen systems are still disabled in the demo.
💬 Final Notes
This update should make the demo experience smoother and easier to understand, especially for new players. I’m continuing to fix bugs, polish the systems, and prepare for the next update — so keep the feedback coming!
Thanks for playing Venusville and for helping me make it better every patch. 🌾☁️
