changedThe original team is gone, there is no budget, and we are not even sure when (or if) the next update will land.
changedSo it stayed there, for a very long time. Don't get me wrong, the game is playable but far from complete. There is no matchmaking, no profile system, or leaderboards. We had to turn off the backend, so you need to create a private server or join a private server to play with your friends. And of course we have no server browser, so to find out if someone is playing you have to come to Discord. And guess what—the Discord link in the main menu is broken! We do meet a few times and try to setup a game, but it's not that easy to find players in a small community from all over the world.
changedThe original team is gone, but with two other brave (or mad) developers, we are trying to push a small patch and see if we can move the game further. A small patch with a drop of content, and then, if it works, we will keep pushing updates. For this reason we are moving away from being free and will put a price on Vector Strike on Steam. If we find enough players willing to invest in the game, we will keep working on it; if not a least we would have tried to revive a game with so much unexpressed potential.
changedI’m still in touch with Steam regarding the price change, so it should happen Monday the 25th. But fear not, if you downloaded the game already (or do so before the price change), it will remain yours and you won’t have to pay to play it.

Don’t buy this game!

Don’t buy this game!

Unless you’re the kind of hero who wants to help us build a community.

Don’t buy this game!

And don’t come back later saying, “I didn’t know what I was getting into!”. you’ve been warned!

If I see you complaining in the steam reviews I will have to face you 1v1!

So please, really, if you don't care about Vector Strike don't spend your money on this, you will end up disappointed, but if are willing to take a bet... Well, this is where we are:

A brief update on the status of Vector Strike and what is changing.

As you know (or maybe you don’t), Vector Strike launched in Early Access in March 2025. We found ourselves in the middle of development with no money. In hindsight I should have predicted the situation we ended up in, but I was confident we could raise enough money to complete the game. So we did something crazy: we gave what we had built to players for free in the hope that the community would grow organically around a game we loved. But it wasn’t enough, the game never went viral, and it never became big enough to capture investors’ interest.

So it stayed there, for a very long time. Don't get me wrong, the game is playable but far from complete. There is no matchmaking, no profile system, or leaderboards. We had to turn off the backend, so you need to create a private server or join a private server to play with your friends. Finally a big thank you to those that kept playing, kept asking question and kept showing their love for Vector Strike. The closure of Chamo Games was without a doubt the hardest moment of my career and it took me a long time to recover. But your passion for the game helped heal that wound.

Thank you.
