VANRAN changes
Through our previous demo, we were able to gather a tremendous amount of player feedback.
We sincerely thank everyone who played the demo and shared their thoughts with us.
Based on your feedback, we have redesigned major parts of the game’s structure and direction. This goes beyond simple balance adjustments — we are rebuilding the overall gameplay flow and player experience.
Today, we would like to share some of the changes currently being made.
New Features & Changes
1. Giant Field Boss “MATU”
A massive new field boss, MATU, has been added.
Cling onto the monster itself and drive your blade into its body.
2. The Prison Master “Madan” Reworked
The ruler of the prison, Madan, has been redesigned to become a far more threatening enemy.
He is no longer just a pursuer. He pressures the player, dominates the environment, and constantly hunts you down.
3. Berserk Mode Added
A new Berserk Mode powered by the demon sword has been added.
Your combat style changes dramatically as your aggression and destructive power are unleashed.
4. Elise, Princess of the Elphine
The Elphine, a race at war with the demon realm, now enters the story.
Their princess, Elise, comes searching for you.
She is not merely a companion, but a key figure connected to the truth behind this world and its ongoing war.
5. Field & Reward System Reworked
The world structure and exploration flow have been significantly redesigned.
Explore expanded environments and discover new rewards and hidden areas.
6. Experience the Demon Realm
It is a world where beauty and cruelty coexist, and where good and evil are no longer clearly separated.
7. Meet the Blacksmith “Baldrick”
Meet Baldrick, the blacksmith who forges soul-infused weapons.
He is more than a merchant he is someone who understands the connection between souls and steel.
Polishing & Improvements
Animation Improvements
Movement animations and the three-hit combo attacks have been improved.
Combat Impact Improvements
We enhanced combat feedback to make strikes against enemies feel heavier and more satisfying.
Improved Controls
Input responsiveness and overall game feel have been refined, especially for controller users.
Full UI Rework
The entire UI has been redesigned.
We focused on improving readability and delivering information without interrupting gameplay flow.
Save Point Improvements
Save point placement and accessibility have been improved for player convenience.
Chain Action Improvements
Look around carefully. Fire your chain. Stay calm no matter what happens.
The chain-action system is also being continuously refined and improved.
Removed / Reworked Content
Caleb’s Backstory Reworked
Caleb’s original backstory sequence, previously placed in Chapter 1, will now return later in the game in a newly reworked form.
The game now begins inside the prison.
Temporary Voice Acting
The current demo includes voice performances recorded by real actors. The demon sword’s voice was also created using real voice acting enhanced with additional effects.
However, all voice work will be fully re-recorded before release based on the finalized script.
Field Boss “LATA” Relocated
The field boss LATA has been moved to a more fitting location in Chapter 2.
You will encounter it within the vast underground waterways beneath the ruined city.
