Hello Vampire Survivors Crawlers,

Steam Next Fest is over, which means I can stop refreshing the stats page to check the numbers quite so often.

Thanks to everyone who tried the Vampire Crawlers demo during the event! Whether you played for five minutes or five hours, streamed it, reported bugs, or shared feedback, we appreciate it!

Watching players jump in and immediately try to break things remains one of the most useful parts of releasing a demo. You kept crawling, and the game mostly behaved.

Here’s a quick look at how things went.

Demo stats

During the Steam Next Fest, the demo got:

358k downloads 274k players

That’s a lot of people trying the game in a short amount of time! Vampire Crawlers has now also passed 420,000+ wishlists. Thank you for giving it a go!

FAQs

Will demo progress carry over to the full game? Yes. You’ll have the option to carry your demo progress into the full game at launch. If you prefer starting fresh though, that’s also possible: this game has save slots from day one😅

What is a TurboTurn and why should I care? Turn-based games can often be a bit slow because of the waiting between actions. TurboTurn is our attempt to remove that waiting. You can queue and play cards as quickly as you want, while the game resolves everything correctly in the background.

I got soft-locked after a boss fight / the battle didn’t end. This showed up a few times during Next Fest. It’s a bug and it’s already being addressed for the full release. Thanks to everyone who reported it and included details.

When is the release date? We're very close to choosing a release date, since we already have all the content we had planned for launch, and have been bugfixing and polishing for a while! We are planning to launch on Steam and consoles on the same day.

Are you taking the demo down now? No. The demo will stay available between now and launch, and likely afterwards too.

Why does the game feel so easy? The demo is intentionally a bit forgiving so players can experiment with the systems. The full game will ask a bit more from you.

Help, what even is this game?

If you want a quick overview of the game mechanics, we made a short video series called Let’s Explore Vampire Crawlers:
