changedBefore you dive into these update notes, I want to give you a quick heads-up. UE 5.8 has been released. We are currently using UE 5.7 in our game. Once Nvidia and AMD provide us with FSR, DLSS, Anti-Lag, and Reflex support for UE 5.8, we will update the game to UE 5.8. I estimate this update will happen in a month at the earliest, because we will also need to resolve any issues that arise when we transition to UE 5.8.
changedNew Graphics SettingI have added a new graphics setting to the game called Lumen Lighting Mode. This setting features 2 different options: Detail Tracing and Global Tracing. Previously, you couldn't change this setting, and we used the Global Tracing option by default. Now, you will be able to achieve a higher lighting quality by tweaking this setting. We use the most advanced lighting features of Unreal Engine 5 in the game, and we haven't added any restrictions in this regard. If you have a powerful enough graphics card, you can play the game with the lighting quality used not only for games but also in fields like advertising and film. The cinematic graphics settings in the game, in particular, provide you with this quality. In Global Tracing, Lumen only uses the merged, lower-resolution "Global Distance Field" data of the entire scene. Ray calculations are much faster, but small details in light bounces and reflections are reduced. In Detail Tracing, however, Lumen uses the objects' own high-resolution "Mesh Distance Field" data for the first segment of the rays. The image quality is much higher, but the performance cost can be heavy. This setting is only applicable in areas where we do not use MegaLights. The Canyon, the Throne Room, the forested maps of Fendoria Castle Region, and the Mine are these areas. You don't need to change the setting again in other regions. If the map supports it and you have selected Detail Tracing, the game will automatically provide you with that graphics quality. We don't offer lower lighting in other regions, it's just that the technology used is different. Lumen dynamically handles the lighting throughout the entire game. I don't want to bore you with technical details, so I won't drag this part out any further.
fixedBug FixesFixed the issue where having too many save files caused the "load game" menu to take a long time to open and delayed the game's startup.
fixedBug FixesFixed the issue where the quest dialogue bar would visually get stuck. Please let us know if you experience this again. If it happens again, the issue resolves itself when you die, load a new save, or change the map.
fixedBug FixesFixed the issue where the "Ashes of the Past" item, used to reset passive abilities, would be consumed multiple times in a single use.
addedBug FixesAdded the "Ashes of the Past" item to a secret merchant in the game so it can be purchased.

New Graphics Setting

I have added a new graphics setting to the game called Lumen Lighting Mode. Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the issue where having too many save files caused the "load game" menu to take a long time to open and delayed the game's startup.

  • Fixed the issue where the quest dialogue bar would visually get stuck. Please let us know if you experience this again. If it happens again, the issue resolves itself when you die, load a new save, or change the map.

  • Fixed the issue where the "Ashes of the Past" item, used to reset passive abilities, would be consumed multiple times in a single use.

  • Added the "Ashes of the Past" item to a secret merchant in the game so it can be purchased.

  • Fixed an issue where some inventory items would overlap.

  • Health will now fully restore after the first round in the Arena.

  • You can no longer enter a specific rock in the Canyon that was previously accessible.

  • Fixed the position of a slightly floating tree in the Fendoria Castle region.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the Twins' combat music to play infinitely.

  • Fixed a bug that caused Agnola's health bar not to appear.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the Twins' health bar not to appear in the finale chapter.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the letter quest not to disappear after being completed.

Balance Changes

  • The health of the Inquisitor in the Abandoned Castle has been increased by approximately 30%. Now, when the Inquisitor's health drops to 66% and 33%, orbs spawn around it that deal damage upon impact. These orbs both rotate around the Inquisitor and move closer to and further away from it as they spin. Before the orbs hit you, you need to destroy the magical orb representing Loyalty, which spawns randomly in one of two different locations within the castle. If you don't destroy the orb within 20 seconds, new magical orbs that explode on impact will spawn around the Inquisitor. These orbs will continue to spawn every 20 seconds as long as the magical orb representing Loyalty is not destroyed.

When fighting the Inquisitor with the Warrior; alongside the Inquisitor initially, and when its health drops to 75% and 50%, a Nanolist Mage and a Nanolist Warrior will now come to assist the Inquisitor.

If you are fighting the Inquisitor with the Archer or Mage; alongside the Inquisitor initially, and when its health drops to 75% and 50%, one Nanolist Mage will come to assist the Inquisitor at 3 different locations on the castle walls.

  • Added a total of 2 different passive abilities that can be unlocked from level 22 onwards. One of these passives grants health, while the other grants defense.

  • The health of the Living Giant Mushroom has been approximately doubled. Its damage has been reduced by about 6%. Its movement speed has been slightly increased. The damage of the poisonous area in the region has been reduced by 40%.

  • The health of the Queen of the Fallen Kingdom has been increased by 40%. Her damage has been reduced by 45%.

  • The movement speed of the Dark Mage's Servant has been increased by 15.79%. Its health has been approximately doubled, and its damage has been reduced by about half.

  • The Twins' damage has been reduced by approximately 20%.

Improvements

  • Increased the visibility distance of some Evolved and spiders.

  • A VFX now appears on Hector when an HP Potion is used.

  • Made improvements to the visual quality of the lights in the Unknown region.

Known Issues

  • Spawning with low health sometimes after dying.

  • In some languages, a very small portion of the passive description on the bottom right of the passive UI does not fit the screen.

Pressing the Tab key when no action is assigned to it does nothing and causes some issues.

  • In the ending cinematic, the subtitle for the first sentence starts about 5 seconds earlier than the voiceover, but there is no sync issue. The only problem is that it starts early.
