Usurper Reborn v0.65.1 (Countdown)
Another step on the road to 1.0: two new features, co-op healer fixes, a batch of quality-of-life upgrades, and a large localization pass across the shops and the Music Shop.
New Features
Take a family name when you marry. At the wedding you can now keep your own name, adopt your spouse's surname, or choose a brand-new family name. It shows up everywhere (your status sheet, /who, the website leaderboard, NPC dialogue), and your children inherit it.
Set combat skills for your whole party. You could already switch off a companion's wasteful moves at the Inn. Now you can do the same for recruited Team Corner NPCs, a spouse you bring adventuring, and recruited player echoes, right from the Dungeon Entrance party menu and the in-dungeon party menu. Toggle off the skills you do not want them using and they fall back to whatever is left (or a basic attack), so they stop wasting turns.
Co-op Multiplayer
Follower healers can finally heal their teammates. If you joined a friend's dungeon run as a healer, your heal spells used to only ever hit yourself. Now you get a numbered target list every turn (yourself, the leader, and each ally with their current HP percentage), so you can heal whoever needs it most. The shortcut keys work as the help screen describes, and party-wide heals now reach the leader too.
Live party HP panel. /party now shows everyone in the fight: the leader, every grouped player, and all NPC, companion, and pet allies, each with HP and MP, so a healer can see at a glance who is hurt.
No more stuck combat screen. After a battle, a follower's screen now refreshes right away instead of waiting until they walk to a new room.
Quality of Life
See a weapon's class before you equip it. Loot drops, the comparison screen, and your inventory now label each weapon as One-Handed, Two-Handed, Shield, Buckler, or Tower Shield, so you no longer have to equip something just to find out what it is. Even an unusual off-hand item like a buckler is now correctly tagged as a shield.
Heal menus show ally HP percentage everywhere. The stamina and ability heal picker now lists each ally's HP percentage, matching the spell heal picker, so you can read at a glance who needs the heal.
Guild Officers can withdraw far more gold. The Officer per-transaction limit at the guild bank has gone from 50,000 to 10,000,000, so a trusted Officer can reclaim a large stash without needing the Leader online. (You still cannot withdraw more than the guild actually holds.)
Localization
"Yes" now works in your own language at every confirm prompt. Confirm prompts displayed a localized accept key (S for Spanish and Italian, O for French, I for Hungarian), but only the English Y actually did anything. This is now fixed game-wide: shops, bank, temple, church, castle, healer, inn, and many more, hundreds of prompts in total. Every language keeps its natural display, and the key you are shown now does what it says.
Shop hotkeys match what is shown. A handful of Spanish and Italian shop menus displayed letters the game did not accept (in one case the "buy" key actually triggered "skip"). All corrected.
Music Shop performances are now translated. The song lyrics you hear when you hire a performance, along with the seven Old God lore ballads, are now fully localized in all five languages, with the comedic songs kept funny and the ballads kept solemn.
More shop text translated. The Magic Shop sell flow and the wandering town merchant's wares now appear in your chosen language.
Under the Hood
Fixed an analytics attribution gap so new-player connection types are recorded correctly, which helps us see how people are finding and starting the game during the Beta.
Thank you for playing Usurper Reborn during the Beta. Your feedback and bug reports are exactly what shape these updates, so keep them coming.
