With the first public build approved, I'm now in a position to start playtesting Unknown Horizons! It feels weird to put this game into the hands of strangers, and I'm very hesitant...

changedPlaytest Means BugsAll playtest builds will be very much incomplete, may contain experimental features that won't make it to the final game, and will definitely contain placeholder text, graphics, sounds and the like.
addedPlaytest Means BugsI will try to ensure that test builds are at least playable, and each build should add something "concrete" that can be tested... but at the same time, I will be looking for people to test the existing stuff to make sure I didn't break anything!
changedFeedback NeededFeedback is absolutely critical at this early stage of the game.
changedFeedback NeededA link to the discord server and my support ticketing system are included in the menu. Please use them.
changedHow Many TestersAt time of writing, I've had 116 people request playtest access. That's more than I expected, and I'm over the moon that there's that much interest at such an early stage.
addedHow Many TestersI won't be giving access to all of them right away, but I will add a few more to the test in stages as time goes on. If you don't get approved right away, don't worry, you're in the queue.

It feels weird to put this game into the hands of strangers, and I'm very hesitant... but ultimately I want to know what people think as early as possible so I can shape the game into something they will enjoy.

If you're interested, sign up for the playtest! It's free, so why wouldn't you ;)

Feedback Needed

Feedback is absolutely critical at this early stage of the game.

  • What's good

  • What's bad

  • What's ugly

  • What's broken

I want to hear all of it, even if you hate it and want to burn it in fire, trust me, I want to hear it.

How Many Testers

At time of writing, I've had 116 people request playtest access. That's more than I expected, and I'm over the moon that there's that much interest at such an early stage.

I won't be giving access to all of them right away, but I will add a few more to the test in stages as time goes on. If you don't get approved right away, don't worry, you're in the queue.

Thank You...

to everyone for your support so far. I have such big plans for this game and I want to get them all in as quickly as possible, but I have to be realistic and take things slowly so that I do things right. I'm excited to to hear what people think of what I have, and what they would like to see.

See you on the horizon!
