hello there, its been a while, this update is a little earlier than I hoped it to be but I just felt like updating today, so here is the patch notes:

fixed fishing rod from crashing the game.

fixed "freeze the game while paused" from freezing the game indefinitely sometimes.

added reloading the language files to the asset reloading. (dev note)

added collision viewing debug for all physics objects. (dev note)

fixed some fish code.

fixed entity spawnpoints in structures, they should be not stacking now.

"press any key" now accepts funny key combos like ctrl+shift+alt+F4. - (but doesn't save them... yet)

fixed color picker to update when adjusting the hex color.

added shorthand hex colors to be used in the hex text field.

the magical tree has now some particle effects and lighting. - based on progress.

disable online features in the settings menu now usable. - (steam / discord now disable-able, requires game restart.)

you can no longer walk around with dialogue open. (sad)

"disable help and story" option in pause menu added.

fixed tree not updating light source.

added icons to some of the pause menu buttons.

fixed a visual bug in character creation menu.

fixed a debug spawning window. (dev note)

fixed image_scroller to work both horizontally and vertically.

added recipes window for various cooking tiles.

figured out a chunk of how modding support can and will probably work.

finished up cooking ui.

fixed a few things with tooltips, now they are rendering again.

made tooltips really cool.

fixed up alot of language-related stuff, - now most menus should be translate-able.

finished tooltips, re-wrote them again entirely.

added in crafting menu. (which took 5 days in my patch notes)

world backups properly save now.

world now saves over a few frames instead of freezing the game.

alot of saving and loading bugs fixed.

made chests, furnaces and other containers much easier to select with the mouse.

minimap can now select tiles, while holding it will show the tile's name in a tooltip.

a few other fixes that I forgot about.

added chatbox and command processing.

added icons to most item types in the tooltips.

added credits screen.

added tile decoration. (the tiny rocks on the ground)

added moss to some tile walls.

added world and player file compression. saved files should be smaller now. - (currently using Godot's GZIP compression, so 14mb world file is now 1.4mb roughly)

added footsteps.

added food plants to the spawn area. - so player can find food when just starting.

placed tiles have a little dust poof particle now.

tiles broken can now randomly drop extra items.

watering cans can hold lava (atleast for now)

re-added container minis! (it allows you to see what's inside a chest without opening it, still WIP)

tossed and turned at night, and spent every waking hour trying to make a decent looking water shader effect.

and many other things I probably forgot to write down. (darn the patch notes aren't long enough)

also as far as I know steam overlay should not be working at all at the moment.

I've added a few random plants to the starting area, so incase you get hungry you can eat these.

Tooltips got completely reworked, now they look pretty clean and provide alot of info.

Also big news, I now have a steam store page for this game, so I had to make a bunch of images for it all.

Also the crafting menu was completely reworked. (its been broken for months)

Slot locking is a concept I've liked in other games, I've ofcourse added it to Undergrown.

If you hold and on an item slot, you can lock the item in place locked items don't move when you to sort an inventory. and they can work as a pickup filter, so things will goto that slot first everytime.

Footsteps. (they need some deviation)

Lights now flicker / animate, that's cool.

Lava now emits a light, that's hot.

Crafting tables/stations can now use nearby container ingredients to craft with. (this is the range for this table)
