addedHi, this patch brings a new feature to command your characters to target specific enemies. To us, the main way for players to control their characters in combat should be positioning, but we know that some players want a more precise level of control, so we're now introducing "player commands".
addedPlayer CommandsYou'll now be able to find 2 new passive spells, one common and one rare. These new spells will serve as the main way to gain player commands during an exploration, but we intend to keep adding more support for this feature in the future.
removedPlayer CommandsOnce you have player commands available, you'll be able to spend them during combats to first select one of your characters, and then select an enemy character. A command will be consumed and your character will then focus that enemy until they no longer can reach them or attack them, so this tipically means until the enemy dies. Commands are fully recovered after each combat, so you can freely use them like your Mana.
addedChangesThe reroll icons where you drop experience in the reward menus to confirm the reroll now have a highlight animation while you're dragging experience or a different valid reroll consumable. This should help new players learn how to use the reroll feature.
changedChangesThe Burning Soul status effect from Horizon now deals -33% damage.
fixedFixesFixed a bug where characters with multiple taunts were not atacking anyone. Now characters lose their current taunt if they gain a new one.

Player Commands

You'll now be able to find 2 new passive spells, one common and one rare. These new spells will serve as the main way to gain player commands during an exploration, but we intend to keep adding more support for this feature in the future.

Once you have player commands available, you'll be able to spend them during combats to first select one of your characters, and then select an enemy character. A command will be consumed and your character will then focus that enemy until they no longer can reach them or attack them, so this tipically means until the enemy dies. Commands are fully recovered after each combat, so you can freely use them like your Mana.

The player commands are meant as a complementary method to control your characters. You still need to take positioning into account before combat starts, but during combat you'll be able to use your commands to manually direct your characters to focus specific enemies. This is especially useful for enemies that would be hard to focus solely via positioning.

There are still a few quirks and bugs we want to fix with the character pathfinding, which would make positioning characters more intuitive, especially the issue of characters not advancing in alignment when combat starts, so this feature is not meant as a crutch to stop improving things on that front.

Changes

  • The reroll icons where you drop experience in the reward menus to confirm the reroll now have a highlight animation while you're dragging experience or a different valid reroll consumable. This should help new players learn how to use the reroll feature.

  • The Burning Soul status effect from Horizon now deals -33% damage.

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where characters with multiple taunts were not atacking anyone. Now characters lose their current taunt if they gain a new one.

We still want to do one more small patch after this one to address multiple small pieces of feedback, including some bug fixes too. You can expect the next patch soon.

We'll then work on a bigger content patch that will include a bunch of content we wanted to have for the release day, but we ran out of time to finish. This one will take us a bit longer, probably a couple weeks, but we'll still try to fix any bugs or smaller issues that get reported while we finish that.

After that we'll announce the timeline for our first big update, which will include "endgame runs" as the main new feature.

That's it for now, have fun in the Underboard!
