What’s been going on behind the scenes at the Manor?

Spring 2026 Production Update

After lots of playtesting and revising we’re happy to announce 3 of our 4 wing layouts are set. We also have all 48 Strange Events for wings in the game ready for playtesting and 251 Glitches for players to find.

We also started work on the mysterious Black Wing. We have about 2/3 of a first version ready for playtest but it’s still very early in development and likely to change quite a bit. In addition, we’re starting to build out the intro of the full game so we have lots of playtesting opportunities coming up. Interested in helping improve the game? The Original Manor...

As part of our devlogs we thought it’ll be fun to share what goes into making the game with a behind the scenes look at what the first version of the Manor looked like:

We intentionally kept the visuals simple to focus on proving out two key games features:

  1. Dynamically loading levels to create impossible loops and change where you've been

  2. Ability to randomize glitches so each run (and Glitch count) would be different

This was a big moment in early development as it let us know it was possible for us to make the game we wanted and gave us a lot of insights into how to best make levels that work with our loop loading system.
