changedI’m Hayley , one of the programmers helping to bring trash to life, and I’m here with a slightly late but exciting rubbish dump! Last week was a busy one as we were frantically bug fixing and polishing the latest version of trash to showcase at the ACMI audience lab over the weekend. One of the new features we managed to get back in the game was our crafting system!Crafting and resource collecting is going to be a big part of the gameplay experience in the final version of Trash so we wanted to get it back into the game for players to try as soon as we could. The premise is: in order to craft the forms that players will use to navigate the world of trash, they will need to first find and collect certain resources, then take them to the friendly crafting creatures who will help you create them.

In multiplayer games, forms crafted and resources collected will be shared amongst all players, so you can work together to solve puzzles and discover new places together!

Plus seeing the creatures finally work in game, especially when we implemented Yee’s super cute animations, was so rewarding and fun!
