Train Station Project changes
Hello everyone
Today we'd like to share some of the things we've been working on over the past few weeks.
As for the release date, we're still aiming for Summer 2026. As soon as we have a specific launch date to share, we'll announce it on both Steam and our Discord server.
🎨 Station Customization
Last month, we finished work on nearly all of the game's core mechanics. One major feature was intentionally left until the very end: station customization.
We know that for many players this is one of the most anticipated aspects of the game. That's why we wanted to finalize the station layout first and make sure all activities and workflows felt comfortable before introducing full customization options.
Based on the feedback and suggestions we received, the full version will allow you to:
Paint walls, apply wallpapers, or cover them with tiles.
Renovate every room inside the station, including offices, halls, restrooms, and more.
Renovate and customize exterior station areas such as the station square, building facade, and roof.
Customize many static objects located throughout the station.
It's worth mentioning that renovating the entire station will not be required to complete the game. A well-maintained station will provide certain benefits, but customization remains completely optional.
🚶 Major Changes Behind the Scenes
To make customization work properly, we had to slightly rebuild the station building.
It still looks very similar, but many walls were adjusted to fit the grid perfectly. This helps wall tiles align correctly and makes placing objects like benches, bins, and decorations much more predictable.
We've also redesigned how NPCs interact with structures placed by the player.
The station is now divided into separate areas such as the Ground Floor, Upper Floor, Station Square, Platforms, and more.
Now NPCs simply check whether a trash bin exists somewhere within their current area.
This gives players much more freedom when designing and organizing spaces. For example, you can create a dedicated waste collection corner instead of scattering bins throughout the entire station.
🪑 Decorative Objects
We've added many decorative items that were frequently requested by the community.
Among them are themed decorations that become available as you unlock new station rooms.
The full version will include:
A large variety of benches and trash bins
Vending machines
Arcade machines
Wall decorations
Freestanding decorations
And much more.
👷 Employees
We still receive a lot of questions about employees, so we'd like to confirm once again that the employee system has already been implemented.
Employees can run station businesses, deliver packages, clean trash, mop floors, and handle other tasks. Each employee can have multiple assigned duties, and the system is designed to be simple and intuitive to manage.
⚙️ Technical Improvements
Some demo players using HDD drives reported long loading times when starting the game.
Over the last few weeks we've optimized the asset loading process, significantly improving overall loading performance. Even though the full version contains much more content than the demo, the game should load data more efficiently.
In the coming weeks, we'll also begin testing on older hardware, including systems equipped with traditional HDD drives. Our goal is to ensure that Train Station Project runs smoothly and delivers a stable 60 FPS experience even on lower-end PCs.
Thank you again for your support and patience.❤️
