Dev log #6: preparing for first tests of Track Day & car interiors

changedTESTINGIf you're with us on Discord, you've probably already seen that we've started preparing to put the game into the hands of selected players as part of our first, very early tests . These tests will be limited to a small, closed group of participants. We haven't yet decided when they will begin, so keep an eye on our Discord server to make sure you don't miss the launch of the (limited) sign-ups!
changedCAR INTERIORSMoving on to development progress — while the physics continues to evolve , we're also refining the new car we showcased previously: the Polvo. Having completed the exterior bodywork, we've proceeded to fill the interior.
changedCAR INTERIORSYou may have noticed in the screenshots from the previous dev log that the inside of the vehicle consisted almost entirely of bare metal at the early stage of its development (apart from the steering wheel and gear shifter). We want to highlight this aspect because it reflects the general process of creating cars for Track Day.
addedCAR INTERIORSWe've promised extensive interior customization options for vehicles in our game, including the ability to strip factory trim from production cars as part of converting them into race cars. That's why we begin with a bare-metal interior model and then add components such as seats, door panels, and carpets, which players will be able to remove .
removedCAR INTERIORSIt will be possible to reach this kind of "stripped-down" state in every car in the pursuit of lower weight. Just as in real life, every kilogram removed will have a noticeable impact on vehicle performance. Interior modifications will also have other gameplay consequences . For example, if you enjoy listening to music while driving, you'd better leave the radio in the dashboard — otherwise, you'll lose that ability.
changedLOCATIONSWe've also made progress in the creation of the environment . Recently, we've been working on more universal trackside assets that can be found at virtually every racing circuit, among other things. Particularly important are the tents under which cars are parked — they will play a role in making our locations feel alive. We'll talk more about this at a later stage.

And when you start thinking about transforming your car into a proper race machine, you'll probably want to replace the standard analog gauges with a professional ECUMASTER motorsport display that provides more detailed information. You'll be able to do that in Track Day as well.
