OTHER TOWER PROGRESS
VR Progress
VR testing sadly continues to make macdguy nauseous, but he has been making some progress with controller binding fixes for the various VR controllers! Basically, buttons in VR will be functional. There has also been work done on the cursor, which has been having clipping issues, but we believe we’ve found a solution!
Fishing Payout Design
We wanted to give an update on where we’re at with updating some of the payouts and pricing in Tower. wheezwer has been working on the price adjustment design to try to improve the feeling of fishing. We’re going for an increase to put fishing on par with the average earnings per minute of gameplay in Tower Unite in general.
Some improvements include giving trash a standard price that is always below the earnings for catching actual fish (essentially just making sure fish are never worth less than trash items), organizing the fish into more clear categories under-the-hood so we can better standardize prices, and revising TU’s fish sizing to better reflect real fish sizes, which we’re also using when calculating the sell-prices of fish.
Since adjusting prices can be complicated and really affect gameplay, and we’re deep in Elevator development, we’re working on this redesign at a slower pace so we can be careful when testing it.
If you wanna give any more feedback on the feel of fishing, feel free to do so in the comments here. Every bit of feedback helps!
