changedIMPROVED PLAYER CONTROLS Right stick no longer contributes to movement speed (Makes aiming easier when not in Aim Mode). Changes to button controls allow for easier use of Aim Mode, toggling of camera distance and player dash move. Updated player controls image in menus.
changedDASH & BASH The player’s dash move will now cause explosion damage to enemies on impact, with a small amount of damage sometimes taken by the player. Useful if low on ammunition. Doesn’t damage other players during Co-op mode.
changedAIM VIEW CAMERA IMPROVEMENT When the player enters Aim Mode the camera will offset itself from the player’s position to show a further range of the terrain ahead of them, but also reduces view of what is behind the player. The offset cancels itself if the player is close to a wall or other obstruction (prevents the camera moving outside of the arena walls). The distance of the offset also adjusts according to the camera’s height from the player (zoom your camera out to get the furthest view of the terrain).
changedPICK UP INDICATORS Collecting a weapon, health boost or ammunition now triggers a brief graphical display that floats up from the player’s position, indicating what item has just been collected. Player health share in Co-op mode also triggers this display.
changedHOVERBOARD IMPROVEMENT Hoverboards are now easier to get into and less likely to throw the player off when moving at high speeds or over ramps. Improved the model and textures of the hoverboards.
changedIMPROVED VISUAL EFFECTS Significant improvements to visual effects for wall penetrator bullet impacts, flame thrower fire and all explosions.

GUIDED ROCKETS Player can use the right stick to curve the flight of a rocket immediately after firing. Use it to guide rockets around corners and obstacles. Only works in Aim Mode.

HOVERBOARD IMPROVEMENT Hoverboards are now easier to get into and less likely to throw the player off when moving at high speeds or over ramps. Improved the model and textures of the hoverboards.

IMPROVED VISUAL EFFECTS Significant improvements to visual effects for wall penetrator bullet impacts, flame thrower fire and all explosions.

BETTER TEXTURES Many textures for enemies and environments have been changed to include “normal maps”. These maps alter the calculation of light reflections to make flat surfaces look 3D. This helps get rid of the previous “early Playstation” look of the game. With these new textures many of the arenas look a lot better now graphically, though not all arenas include them yet.

OTHER CHANGES

  • Reduced health amounts on enemy tanks. They were too high before.

  • Bot Arenas 4 & 6 have much more variation in how their rooms procedurally generate.

  • Arena 4 boss – fixed a bug that was previously causing it to sometimes stop fighting mid-battle.

  • Assorted small bug fixes.
